Chapter Fifty
The three women, Mickey, Cat and Tyson, were up on the second level, bound for the cafeteria when Mickey fell out of step. “You guys go on ahead. I’m going to stop by sickbay and let Amy know she missed a great party.”
Tyson and Cat waved her off and Mickey stepped into Amy’s private world of strange smells and stainless steel. “How’s our patient?”
Amy looked up from a small metal desk where a paperback was folded over. “Oh. It’s one of the swinging nudies– and Precious is doing remarkably well, thanks. She’ll be eating in the cafeteria tomorrow, back to work the day after. You want green tea?”
Mickey made a face. “I’ll pass, thanks. Is she awake? Can I ask her a couple of questions?”
“Sure. Go ahead on in. I’m here if you need me.”
