***Mature content*** Calix's POV "Put the warriors on standby," dad said to Mason, his gamma, who nodded in response. He continued, "they might be targetting Calix, knowing he found his mate already and would soon be taking over." "Please have someone guard Micah," I said, asking dad. How could I let this happen? How could I put the love of my life in danger just because of being my mate? "We'll protect her, just like what we always do," Brion said, my wolf. I can feel how protective he is of our mate as well. "I know," I responded. "It's just that something's off. Have you smelled their scent? It isn't of a rogue. And it's a bit familiar. I just can't point it out." "Whatever happens, we'll protect mate," he said. "Dad," I continued, looking at him. "They might come after her. They've seen her with me. Micah said there was someone watching us from behind a tree." "Don't worry, son," he said, reassuring me. He looked back at Mason and ordered him; "One outside her window, one outside her door." "Understood, Alpha," Mason said, nodding at dad before leaving. "Something's off, Dad," I started as the door closed. "They don't smell like rogue." "They must be new rogues," he concluded, leaning back on his chair. "That, or they must have someone masking their scent or changing it." "I," I stopped, deciding not to push further. Dad must be right, they might be new rogues that's why they don't smell like one yet. "But they smell so familiar. I don't recall anyone cutting ties with us recently. There aren't, are they?" "Last one was Samantha," he confirmed. "But it was to be with her mate and it was about five months ago. No one left the pack recently or we would have felt it." Usually, she-wolves are the once to cut ties with her pack to move to a new one once they found their mate. That is if he belongs to a different pack. Other than that, moving families or teens who wanted to explore different packs are the ones to cut ties voluntarily but with their Alpha's knowledge. Rogues are often the ones who got kicked out of their former packs due to rule breaking. Though I've heard lot of rumours were wolves in other packs, particularly mistreated omegas, break their pack bond voluntarily without their Alpha's knowledge to escape their unfavourable life. I've never knew anyone from ours to do that as we treat everyone here like a family, no matter what the rank is. "I'm not sitting around," I finally said, standing up and heading to open the door. With one last look at my dad, I said, "I'll go to Micah's, just to be sure." "No marking yet," he smirked, reminding me of what I promised my mom once I found my mate. "Wait till your Alpha ceremony." "I know," I chuckled. "See you tomorrow, dad." I closed the door and ran upstairs. I stopped at Micah's door, acknowledging Ryker who was assigned as her guard by the door, before knocking. "Come in," she called. I opened the door, inhaling her scent that masked her whole room. "Calix!" She jumped unto me, surprising me.I easily caught her as she wrapped her legs on my waist. My c*** hardened as I felt her lower part near it, with my hands on her ass supporting her weight. "Hey, princess," I smirked, controlling myself. I closed the door with my foot. I walked us to her loveseat by the window, sitting down with her still on top of me. "You okay?" "Yup," she smiled, scrunching her nose which never fails to make my heart melt. I've always love when she does it. "Are you gonna tell me what happened?" "Mmm," I hummed, trying to find the right words so she wouldn't have to worry or be scared of the situation. "Dad's on it." "Okay," she said slowly, not convinced. "You know Ryker's outside my door, right? And Kenneth's right outside. Look!" She leaned closer. Her breast was almost on my face, giving me a closer view of her clevage, like she didn't care. I was both shocked and at the edge of my sanity to control my lust for her. Shrugging the thought, I laughed, which she might have noticed as she immediately slid down to my side. "Sorry," she said shyly, turning red. "I don't mind," I chuckled, reaching for her hand and intertwinning it with mine. I love how perfect her tiny hand fits in mine. "I just wasn't expecting a full view of your chest." She hitted me playfully on the arm, giggling. "Anyway," she continued, kneeling to look outside the window again. I followed her gaze and looked outside. Below, in front of her window, Kenneth was standing on guard. "That," I said, pulling her back to my lap. I looked at her, locking eyes, as I held unto her sides. "I asked dad to have someone watch over you. I'm just worried. Rogues are really bad news." "I know that," she said, cupping my cheek. Her touch sent explosive feelings down my spine. "But you're here. I don't need too much security.' "I just need to be sure," I said. "You know I can defend myself," she giggled. "We've been training together since we were kids." I chuckled and repeated, "well, just to be sure like I said." "Calix," she said. Her tone became serious. "I'm happy to be your mate." "I am, too," I said, smiling. "More than you know. I'll always protect you. Always cherish you. I will always love you, if that's the last thing I do." "I love you, Calix," she said before closing the distance between us. In a second, she crashed her lips unto mine, kissing me. I smiled, kissing her back. I bit her lower lip which causes her to moan, giving me entrance to her mouth. For awhile we kissed passionately, with my hands snaking on her body as I pull her closer to my needing body. Her hands were tangled in my hair. I moved my lips to her jaws, making my way to her neckline down to where I will be marking her in two weeks. "Calix," she moaned my name, as I nibbled on her marking spot. I hummed in response, continuing on what I was doing. "Don't," she giggled. "Your mom will kill you if you don't wait." "But I can't wait," I said, laughing, as I pulled away, looking at her. Yes, I can't wait. I would mark her here and now if only I didn't promised my mom. "I want everyone to know that you are mine." "I think they already do even before we became mates," she laughed, reminding me. She caresses my cheeks with her hands. She's smiling from ear to ear, looking so happy. "I have your scent all over me for years, no one would dare to come near me, you know." "Not sure about that," I shook my head, laughing. "This morning that bastard, Nathan, just asked you if you two are mates." "Please," she scrunched her face once more. I pinched her nose, making both of us laugh more. "You know you love that guy." "He's my delta afterall," I rolled my eyes. I picked her up, putting her on the bed. I pulled the covers, tucking her in before I kissed her forehead. "I love you, Micah," I said, smiling. "I love you, too, Calix," she smiled. I turned around and was about to open the door when she said, "where are you going?" "My room, where else?" I said, looking back at her. She had a confused look on her face. I laughed, getting back to her. I sat beside her, holding her hand. "I thought when you find your mates, you're going to share rooms from then on," she asked innocently. "Princess, did no one told you they do that to mate?" I shook my head, laughing. "Oh," she said, confused. Then her eyes widen, realizing what it meant. "Oh!" "Yeah," I laughed. "Honestly, I'm going back to my room because I have a really horny wolf and, oh, the things we would do to you if we lose our self control." "You're as horny as I am," Brion protested. I laughed at him. "And I know you would want to wait till you are marked before we mate," I continued, rubbing circles on her hand. "But my mom, you know." She giggled. She sat up, shocking me by kissing me on my cheek. It felt like hundred of nuclear bombs exploding. I smiled. "Thank you, Calix," she smiled. "Anything for you, my sweet little luna," I winked at her, standing up. "See you tomorrow at training."
