Chapter 22The next morning, Joe woke to find that Rocky had already gone. The big man started work at nine, and by the time Joe came around, he was nowhere to be seen. Now, Joe would have the apartment to himself until five-thirty, when Rocky would return home from his shift at Donaldson Trucking. Joe yawned and stretched. He had a faint headache from the beer he'd drunk the night before, but he didn't feel dizzy or sick to his stomach.
