Mei's plan was set in motion, and the rebels were preparing for their biggest battle yet. But Mei knew that the Governor would not go down without a fight, and she was right.
One night, as she was walking back to her quarters, Mei was ambushed by the Governor's soldiers. She fought hard, but she was outnumbered and outmatched. Just as all hope seemed lost, she was dragged before the Governor himself.
The Governor sneered at Mei, his eyes filled with hatred and lust. "You think you can defeat me, Mei?" he spat. "You think you can take away my power and my control?"
Mei spat back at him, defiance in her eyes. "I'll never bow down to you, Governor. You're a monster, and you'll pay for your crimes."
The Governor laughed, his eyes glinting with cruelty. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with menace.
And with that, he reached out and grabbed Mei, pulling her close. Mei struggled and kicked, but the Governor was too strong. He held her in place, his hands roaming over her body, his breath hot on her neck.
"You're a beautiful woman, Mei," he whispered. "And you'll make a fine addition to my collection."
Mei's heart raced with fear, but she refused to give in. She knew that she had to keep fighting, no matter what.
Just as the Governor was about to drag her away, Li burst into the room, his sword drawn and his eyes blazing with fury. "Let her go, Governor," he growled. "Or face the consequences."
The Governor sneered at Li, but he knew that he was outmatched. He released Mei, and she fell into Li's arms, shaking with fear and relief.
Li held her close, his eyes burning with anger. "I'll never let him hurt you again, Mei," he whispered. "I promise."
And with that, he swept her out of the room, away from the Governor's clutches. But Mei knew that the Governor would not give up easily. He would be back, and next time, she would not be so lucky.
