Song Recommendation: Love to dream by doja cat
Dear Gentlemen, women? Pay them, f**k them. Tis but common sense to know that commitment to them will drive you b****y nuts..
It was official. She was avoiding him, and taking great pains to do so, Orion pondered this line of thought as he picked at his meal that morning. He looked to end of the table and thought back to their wedding breakfast when she had looked so nervous sitting so far away and how in the following weeks she had gotten comfortable enough to eat by his side. Now she was not here at all. she had decided to stay locked in that chamber of hers. She took her meals up there and barely came out for fear of running into him, if she didn’t want to talk about what happened between them she could just say so. Of course he wouldn’t let it go that easily but still she didn’t have to lock herself away like a person wasting away of the plague. he wasn’t sure how long he could hang in here and not storm her room, demanding explanations. If nothing, his lady wife had thought him restraint and patience, both of which he was having a hard time practicing this very moment. He had no appetite for the food that lay before him, chicken roast and spiced fish. He had given her time and today when he had asked. Politely. she had so blatantly refused to dine with him, and now as he sulked he felt the stare of the servants boring a hole through his head. He cared not a whit for what his servants thought of him in the past, but now he did. when he had sent up a maid to her room demanding her presence to dine with him. The maid had come back rambling apologies and what not about her not so subtle decline, it ran him nuts, if her aim was to provoke, she definitely had his attention. He was a mighty distracted with thoughts of her,
Hell, thoughts of her was driving him insane!
what did she want him to do! Beg? This was one of the many reason he never did commitment and courtship and marriage. Until now. He had known the best way to keep a woman? Pay them, f**k them, walk away. That path led to no drama and no heartaches for both parties. But this was Artemis and she had always been different. He had known that from the very beginning.
“ Your grace, Mister Shaw to see you sir” *** , announced in a bored drawl, the man always spoke in that tone.
“ Show him to my study, I will be with him shortly” He scraped the chair back as he rose rather ungraciously, he had better get some work done if he couldn’t get some food down.
Walking into his study in a not so very bright mood Orion shook hands with his very efficient man of business. Shaw was a man of average height, no less than seven and fifty in age. He wore his trademark ash suit and ruby signet ring, and the spectacle he hardly took off. He had been the family solicitor before he inherited the Dukedom. He was known in all of England as one of the best and Orion was proud to have him in his employ. They settled down for important estate matters. And Hopefully he would concentrate on work.
