My entire body felt like it was on fire. The heat was unbearable, and my mind was a whirlwind of confusion and desire. Diago and I had walked through the night, fleeing Big Joe's ranch with barely a plan beyond finding safety. I couldn't walk any further because now my heat was hitting me in waves.
