Amy dragged me to a picnic bench and we took a seat after a few minutes some women came and started making small talk with us, sensing my disinterest they began talking more to Amy. I watched the bonfire dance in the distance, its warm glow drawing people in like moths to a flame. The air was crisp, the bite of autumn just starting to make its presence known. But the warmth of the fire did nothing to thaw the chill that had settled deep inside me. I was here, sitting among them, and yet I felt worlds apart.
