The bright light from the sun made their way once again into Estelle's eye, waking her up, "ugh," she groaned and turned around with her eyes still closed. Until then, she heard the door creak open and this is where Estelle's sense sharpened up. Her eyes immediately opened and looked at the being who opened the door. "Luke?" she managed to ask and roamed her eyes around the room and that's when she noticed that she was inside an unfamiliar room.
Knowing this Estelle immediately jumped up to her feet, not minding the mess she made on the bed. "W-Where a-am I?" Estelle asked Luke who was standing, leaning at the doorframe looking amused at the girl who's trying to put everything into pieces. "Answer me, what am I doing here?!" Estelle asked clearly in a state of panic meanwhile Luke wanted to joke with her but refrained himself from doing so because it might impact Estelle's mental stability since it is already worse than before.
"I saw you at the park yesterday and you were sleeping so I brought you inside my-" Luke wasn't able to complete his sentence when Estelle cut him off and walked around the room trying to find something, "my things...where are they?" Estelle asked as she opened the closet located in the room but when she saw that it was only full of clothes, she closed it back and continued searching, not minding the presence of the young man still at his position and looking amused at her as he sipped his coffee that was almost done.
"Chill," Luke tried to calm Estelle down but the girl did not listen. "No, I will calm myself down when I find my things," Luke was somehow shocked at the girl's reply, seeing this state of Estelle made him wonder what kind of a thing it could be to make Estelle this agitated. "What thing are you finding that makes you agitated like this?" Luke as he slowly went to the place where he store Estelle's belongings.
"Here," he stood up and showed Estelle her two luggage, seeing this made Estelle smile in glee. She immediately went to where it was and opened it and grabbed something from it. Luke who was curious, decided to take a peek at what Estelle is holding when he had a clear view he turned around and laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA," hearing this made Estelle turn around and glare at the doctor who was slapping his thighs as he laughed. Estelle asked the man, "what's so funny?" she huffed and waited for a bit until the doctor calmed down from laughing. "What's so funny?" Estelle repeated the question and Luke looked at her with an amused look, " I was worried and curious for nothing! I thought you were looking for gold or money but instead, you rummaged and ran all over my room just to find your teddy bear?" after speaking this, Luke laughed again as if it was the most hilarious thing he had ever seen.
Estelle who was speechless at what the doctor said decided to just leave him inside the room and went outside, to study the surroundings. When she left the room, she was greeted by a spacious hallway that led to a staircase. Estelle didn't waste time and walked towards the staircase, carrying her small bear with her as she took her steps. "Wow," Estelle complimented as she took each step down from the stair and downstairs, you could see the massive chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Estelle didn't even notice that she was already downstairs because she kept staring at the chandelier above.
After admiring the shimmering chandelier, Estelle lowered her gaze and was met by a large TV and a couch that seemed more comfortable than the bed that Estelle had in her apartment. "Wow," she exclaimed once again as her eyes roamed around the house that seemed like a mansion.
"Do you like it?" a voice suddenly asked from behind. Estelle turned her head around to see who the person was but it was only Luke and to answer Luke's question, Estelle nodded and smiled slightly because of amazement. Heck! It can't even compare to Alice's so-called mansion. She kept bragging that her house was a mansion but it was only a simple house with a modern design and Estelle was dumb enough to believe Alice when she said that. Now, just by looking at the interior of the house, Estelle can say that this is what a mansion truly is.
"Do you want to live here?" Luke asked and Estelle's eyes widen when she heard the question coming from the man's mouth. "What do you mean?" Estelle managed to squeeze out a reply from her mouth but only turned out as a question for the other to answer. When Luke realized that he was being questioned back, he could not give a reply to the girl who was also anticipating his answers. And the only thing he could do right now is to change the topic.
"U-Uh, do you want to eat breakfast?" he asked Estelle who noticed the uncomfortableness in Luke so she decided to ride on with him, so in reply, Estelle just nodded. "Follow me," Luke walked in front of Estelle so he can show her the house and eventually lead her towards the kitchen where he already prepared some breakfast for the both of them. "Sit there," Luke motioned Estelle to sit across him and the girl obliged him since he has every right to tell her what to do. This is his house after all and she is just a visitor that would eventually leave in a few minutes after this interaction.
"I cooked bacon, eggs, ham and I also toasted some bread. Just pick what you like...I also have some fruits on the fridge, do you want some? Oh wait, let me get it for you," Luke asked Estelle since he doesn't want to be uncomfortable inside his place. It's just that this is the first time Luke had brought someone inside his house. "And here they are," Luke returned with a basket full of fruits resting on his hands, "please help yourself," Luke encouraged Estelle to eat what she wants since he prepared all of these for her since he doesn't;t eat his breakfast. Only a cup of coffee would suffice his breakfast, if anyone is to be blamed for that then it's Medschool.
"Alright, thanks for the food," Estelle thanked Luke politely before eating the food that was served in front of her and Luke just smiled and continued sipping his coffee that was now refilled. Estelle picked the apple from the basket and then took a bite from it, "mmm," Estelle let out a moan while expressing her thoughts about the apple that she just bit. "This apple is really delicious!" Estelle cheered and continued to eat it until nothing was left except for the seeds. After eating the apple, she then took the toasted bread and tried to grab the jam that was beside Luke. The man who saw this smiled looking at how cute the girl is while trying her best to grab the jam that was beside him. After numerous tries, Estelle gave up and just grabbed the egg that was in front of her using a fork and then put it above the toasted bread and then she noticed that the jam was already in front of her. She looked at Luke who just smiled and so, she mouthed a 'thank you' and Luke replied with a 'welcome' followed by, "why are you so quiet, it's just the two of us here you know," Luke said and Estelle didn't even listen to him and just continued eating.
After their breakfast, Estelle presented herself to wash the dishes even though Luke kept persisting that he should do it since she's a visitor and he strongly believes that visitors must do nothing other than to sit at the couch and watch TV or talk with others. Estelle was amused because of this belief that the doctor seemed to believe in and so she asked Luke, "who taught you that kind of belief? It's totally the opposite, visitors are supposed to wash their dishes since it's the only thing they can do and so they can lessen the owner's chores. It's just a simple logic so why can't you seem to get it?" Estelle tried to shoo Luke away so that she can take over from the work.
"Who taught me that belief? My nanny of course!"
'So he has a nanny? What a rich guy!' Estelle thought inside her mind and continued to shoo Luke away from the sink who didn't seem bothered at all and kept doing the dishes himself.
"And you? who taught you that visitors should wash their dishes themselves and not the owners?" Luke question Estelle and Estelle raised her head proudly and confidently told Luke, "our neighbour!" hearing this made Luke slightly laugh, "your neighbour? really? Why would you even go to their house?" Luke asked Estelle a question and so, Estelle leaned back at the kitchen counter and Luke just smirked when his plan to continue washing the dishes succeeded meanwhile Estelle took a deep breath and thought, 'this is gonna be a long talk,'
"So back in my childhood days, all my memories were not full of abuse from my parents, some of them contained happiness and I clearly remember that time where my neighbour saw me outside of our house at night when I was kicked out from the house because of me not bringing what my mother needed and so I stayed outside, feeling cold all over my body and that was when she took me in, though I thought that it was because of pity. Heh! I was sure that it was because of pity since I had that ragged clothes on me but despite my dirty appearance, she welcomed me in their home with open arms, even her child did. I also remember that child, he was five years older than me but despite our age gap, he still played with me as if he was my age. That night, he told me that visitors must be the ones who clean their own mess and also wash their dishes so that they could help lessen the burden from the owners and when his mom heard the boy speaking that, she smacked his head and told him that his saying was not right and it was totally wrong but even though he took back what he said, I found a point in his statement and from that day onwards, his saying is still here in my head. That night gave me a memory that I could not ever forget. I think that at that time, I felt what familial love was but ever since that day, I couldn't remember what happened. But still, I was thankful that even though I did not remember what happened after that, some of its fragments still remained inside my mind and that was all that I need."
Estelle smiled recalling her memories with that family before looking back at Luke who was already wiping his hands dry with a towel that was located above the sink. When Estelle realized that she forgot what she's supposed to do, she slapped herself and gave Luke a glare, "hey! I told you that I was supposed to be the one washing the dishes!" Estelle complained but only to earn a flick on the forehead from the man. Luke bowed his back to match Estelle's height and said, "forget what that boy said, he was spewing some b*llsh*t and I'm certain of it," Luke said firmly and Estelle fired back, "how can you say so? Are you that boy?"
Luke then replied back, "no I'm not but I'm pretty sure that that boy is suffering right now for what he said at the clueless little girl who could do nothing but look at the people around her with amazement," Estelle was surprised at how Luke described it. It was all accurate, ever since Estelle was a child since her parents forbid her to go outside and meet other people. Estelle would often look at people who passed their window with amazement and when she met a real person, face to face, she would then stare at that person with pure amazement.
Luke noticed Estelle in a daze, then immediately changed the topic because he thought that he had touched a sensitive part of Estelle's memories. "...don't worry about not doing the chores, since you're so eager to do them then I'll leave the house to you," Luke stated which made Estelle's mouth gape open.
'Just what does he mean by that?' Estelle was now screaming inside her head because she really wanted to know as to what Luke meant behind those words.
"What do you mean?" Estelle asked and tried to stare at Luke, eye to eye but was only avoided by the man. "Come on, tell me," Estelle tried encouraging Luke who tried his best to not have eye contact with the girl but the girl made it hard for him to do so since she kept persisting that they should make some eye contact. Estelle who eventually got tired of this walked her way out and looked for some valuable things for Luke so that she can use them to threaten him.
As if heaven was by Estelle's side, she then saw a perfectly formed vase and by the looks of it, it seemed that it's really an expensive item so she slowly made her way towards the vase and picked it up carefully and came back to Luke who saw her coming her was towards him so he decided to avert his gaze elsewhere.
"Doctor~" Estelle called in a sing-song voice and Luke who just hear it was surprised at the tone made by Estelle and so he turned his gaze to her and that's where he saw his 10 million dollar vase being carried recklessly by the woman whom he tried to avoid his gaze with. "Oh my!" he exclaimed and walked towards Estelle at a fast pace and was about to take the vase away from her hands but Estelle distanced herself from him and asked Luke once again, "tell me what you meant," Estelle said in a demanding tone and Luke who's hardheaded decided not to so Estelle then threatened him, "if you don't tell me then say bye-bye to this expensive vase,"
"No!" Luke exclaimed and ran with his might towards Estelles who was taking her steps backwards without caring about what's behind her.
"Say goodbye to your expensive vase doctor~," Estelle said and continued to walk backwards that she didn't even notice that just one more step could lead to a serious accident.
"No!" Luke shouted as Estelle took a step back on that uneven surface which could lead to something serious if one does not look at it carefully which is what Estelle's currently doing, casually walking backwards without even watching where she's going.
"AHHH!" Estelle shouted when she slowly lost her balance and was about to fall to the ground. Thankfully, a strong arm managed to catch her in time, avoiding a dangerous scene that would happen if Luke hadn't arrived at Estelle's place in time. Just then the both of them hear a loud crash to the floor only to see the 10 million dollar vase break into pieces. But despite that loud crash, the two didn't notice it as they were both lost in each other's eyes.
