Sara needed to get away from him...That's what the alarm ringing in Sara's head was asking her to do.
She knew what she needed to do, but her body seemed to have a mind of its own. Her feet refused to move and walk away from him.
Silas came up on the ramp and stood behind her, observing her closely. She wanted to walk away, he knew, but she was unable to do it.
Why? He wondered and stepped forth. Her shivering body was a step away. If he could cover that distance, he would touch her and that's all he wanted to do. But, the thought that Sara might not want it like him made him maintain the distance from her.
His warmth seeped through her back and her hair stood on its ends. Her heart was about to explode out of her chest and there was nothing she could do but tremble.
