"Why can't I come to your condo? Dianne is..." she asked, puzzled.
"I live with Dianne," came my straightforward reply.
"But Rolf, you're single and she's a girl living with you. People might get the wrong idea. They might even think that you’re her Sugar Daddy," Claire argued. "You should consider moving her to another unit in your building."
"I don't care about what others think," I responded confidently. "Dianne is like family to me. She's my best friend's daughter, and I don’t like not seeing her. I just want to keep her safe."
Claire's voice trembled as she confessed, "You know I still love you, right? I want to come back into your life, Rolf. I've even told my parents about my divorce from Robert. You're the one I want to be my husband."
