The park was bathed in the warm, golden glow of the setting sun, but the atmosphere around Joy and Jae was anything but cheerful. They sat on a secluded bench, away from the prying eyes of onlookers. Joy was focused on treating Jae's bloody knuckles, her hands steady as she cleaned the wounds and applied antiseptic.
Fortunately, Jae's friends, Ace and Ludwig, had intervened just in time to prevent Jae from beating Dominic to death. They had urged Joy to take Jae away from the school, promising to handle the situation, and although Joy was scared of Jae and the dark fury in his eyes, she was more scared that Jae would get into grave trouble. So, she had taken his hand and practically dragged him away from the school premises.
