It was the last day of school and the year-end celebration was already in full swing. The theme was Hawaiian summer and most everyone was decked in summer outfits like Hawaiian shirts, floral tops and summer dresses, and accessories like a flower or tinsel lei.
There was an exhibit where artwork, projects and awards accumulated during the year were up for viewing. School photographs of the students’ favorite memories were tacked on a large frame, along with written messages. On the stage, a band of Grade 12s were playing a music cover. On a table, some kids were making friendship bracelets for themselves or for each other. And the photobooth was a big hit, with props like silly glasses, hats and feather boas.
There were also scheduled games and even a talent show and trivia contest. All
