Autumn's memories of Nicholas were somewhat hazy, but their grandmother reassured her that they had met many times before when they were little. But Nicholas remembered her. He remembered her catching a bee with her bare hand and screaming her head off, causing the party their families had attended to come to an abrupt halt. Despite being the same age, Autumn looked up to Nicholas like an older brother. She didn't have any siblings and didn't have any playmates living nearby.
