I would have liked to say that Nicholas and I finally had a conversation that would shed light on every mystery and secret that has happened to me for the past semester but, unfortunately, we didn’t. Because just as we were about to, Angela appeared with Irene in tow. “You.” Angela was fuming as they came down the hallway. “Get away from her.” “Are you okay, Wendy?” Irene said, clasping my upper arm and pulling me away to stand between me and Nicholas. “I’m fine.” I looked at Nicholas, who was frowning unhappily. “We were just talking, guys.” Angela was still glowering at Nicholas. “About what? Because if it’s not an apology from him, then he should just leave you alone.” “Please calm down, Angela,” Irene softly urged. “I am calm. I’m not scratching his eyes out, aren’t I?” Nicholas
