        The footsteps above us grew louder and there were more sets now too. Sam, Kyle and Hector all looked up at the ceiling. I wasn't exactly sure which part of the house the basement was under but I roughly knew where the corridor to the front hall was because of the location of the stairs. It was hard to tell where the different footsteps were but I was sure that there were some outside the door to the basement.
