Chapter 13-3

456 Words

After showering with hot water, changing into soft, dry pajamas and putting on a fluffy robe and the soft moccasins I wore around the house, I headed for brunch. Grandpa was sitting there, with a teapot and a steaming cup of tea in front of him. "Hi, Dana. How was your training session?" he asked, as I sat, serving myself a pile of bacon, egg scramble, and started buttering up a toast. I dug into the food. Hungry as I was, the creamy, buttery egg scramble seemed tastier than ever. "Horribly," I said. "I can see that," Grandpa said. "I have some cream for bruises. I'll help you apply it after breakfast if you want." "That would be nice," I nodded. The salty butter contrasted with the tart raspberry jam I spread over it, as I bit into the crunchy toast. Grandpa let me eat in silence.
