Chapter*4

"Why so sad, little one?" Lexi heard a deep voice talking to her as her head shot up. "Oh, sorry," She said, standing up. "It's nothing. Enjoy the party." She said quickly, moving out of the way of the tall man as he walked by her taking a deep breath."Oh a human and vampire?" He said, his eyes turning red looking at her as she stepped back once more."I, I don't know what you're talking about." She said quickly, horror written on her face.

"Lexi!" she heard Ryan's voice as the man turned away and walked into the building quickly as they passed each other. Ryan went up to Lexi and asked, "What is your deal? You just storm out of there. Are you just being a drama queen today?!" He was yelling as she looked at him and glared."I'm the drama queen? Am I?!" Her anger out did her fear as she growled."You invited the whole school who can't stand me! You invited your friends to mock me for not being a slut or wanting to be fed off. You turned this into a YOU party just like you have since you were 17. I hate this new Ryan!" She finally screamed as he sighed "Well maybe I am doing this, so I don't think about you." He snapped as Lexi looked confused. "Wh…what?" She said as a girl walked up. Her name was Stacey. She was Lexi's biggest bully and even hurt her a few times. "Ryan there you are"She said, wearing a red scarf which was Ryan's color if she was bitten by him. Lexi rolled her eyes as the girl cuddled into Ryan. "I'm a little cold. Could I borrow your jacket?" She asked as Ryan took it off, handing it to her, and that is why Lexi knew to wear her own jacket. "Ryan, the cake ceremony is happening, come on inside." She said not even acknowledging Lexi standing there or that this was for her. "I will be there in a second." Ryan said harshly "No go be a good boy and go inside." Lexi said walking away from them and near the limo as there was movement in the shadow.

Sadly, Lexi couldn't see in the dark, but she remembered the red eyes that she had seen before. Before she could scream, the man covered her mouth. "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. Just calm down." He said calmly as Lexi felt the wait come off of her mouth and she heard Mike's voice. "Hello Charles." He said, walking over a man who smiled. "Mike, very nice to see you again." He said bowing his head to him as Lexi rushed to Mike. "And who the heck is this?" Ryan spoke up rushing towards them "An old friend." Mike said stopping him from getting to close to Charles. "And you just let him touch her." He said as Ryan pulled Lexi roughly to him checking her over "I'm fine." Lexi snapped trying to pull away from Ryan as he held her tighter "Ryan you're hurting me." She whispered but it fell on death ears. Everyone inside was coming outside seeing the action they thought was going on, since Charles and Mike were so close together with Vivian trying to pull Lexi away from Ryan, who had a death grip on her. "We have been friends for 500 years. You can calm down son." Mike said as Ryan pushed Lexi away quickly once people noticed "Ew, you were flirting with dad's friend who could be a thousand years old." He laughed, which made everyone laugh. "What no, I just bumped into him. I don't even know him." she said as the tears began again, hearing the laughs and the jokes flooding her mind. "Ryan." she said, looking at him and slapping him once harder than before as he fell into the bush. "I hate you." She said into his eyes as the joking died down and people just stared looking shocked. Ryan, Vivian, and Mike gasped they had never heard those words come out of her mouth towards Ryan alone. Sometimes she would say she hated how he acted, but never hated him personally.

"What did you just say?" Ryan said getting up looking madder than a hornet. "You heard me." Lexi said, not backing down from him as they stood a foot different, so her head came to his chest, but she kept her head held high, looking into his eyes. "I am done. I am done with you. I am done with this school, I am done with these people. I HATE you Ryan " Lexi said so slowly and softly calm that almost everyone could feel the heart-breaking truth. Lexi was officially done, she was over the games, the mocking, the bullying and the harassment of her peers. She walked around Mike and Charles getting in the car. "Take me home please, you can come back and get them." She said as the doors locked, but there was no movement up front. "Keith?" She said, rolling down the privacy window. "Keith, are you" She peeked over as a head flew into her lap. She screamed from inside the limo as everyone gasped, trying to open the doors."Lexi. Lexi! Open the door", Mike said, as Charles tried the passenger door, which was also locked. She tried pulling on the door to open it but none of the two back ones was moving. The smell of blood circled her as she tried not to breathe it in, but it wasn't helping at all. She covered her mouth and nose as she saw red eyes looking from the front seat: "My darling daughter. That will not help". The man said as she watched the body of a long-time friend, and their driver was thrown to the back where she was making her scream again, seeing him bleeding from his neck where his head was missing and small cuts everywhere.

Lexi let out another scream, this one of horror, as the man began crawling through the window, his hands touching the blood and spreading it. Lexi was basically gagging at this point because she never liked the smell of human blood. "STAY AWAY FROM HER ARSEhole!" Ryan yelled, banging on the glass that was beginning to shake. "Aw, now. Now. No reason for tears" The man said, touching her cheek as she tried moving away, making herself as small as she could in the back of the limo. "Aw, let's not play that game dear." He said with a wicked smile and pulled her leg to him, making blood get on her leg and dress as she whimpered. "P-Please don't hurt me" She said as he laughed "Hurt you. Darling. I adore you." He said, laughing with a boom in his voice which sent chills down her spine. "Everyone move!" She heard a voice as a tree limb was crashing into the limo glass going everywhere as the man shielded Lexi. As he was viciously pulled out of the limo through the window. Lexi could hear groans and growls as she felt the other back door open and she almost fell out she was caught and was about to scream until she seen it was Ryan and he grabbed her just hugging her. "Lexi, you have blood all over you." He said looking at her cheek which had little freckles of blood, her dress which was now covered in it, and the side of her leg had a hand print of blood. "Are you okay, did he touch you."
