Lexi looked at him horrified and shaking. "No, just my leg." She said quickly, showing him, knowing making him wait to see would cause more problems. The bloody hand print made her want to vomit even more as Ryan looked inside "Keith." He said sadly as Lexi cried harder, dropping to her legs. "I was just trying to go home, I don't understand what happened" She said, freaking out as she ran her hands through her hair. Ryan went back to hugging her. "Hey hey hey, this isn't your fault." He said, cradling her to him like his life depended on it. "I… I'm so sorry" Lexi muttered, "Not now, Lex. It's okay." He said, smoothing her hair as he sat on the ground with her keeping her head on his chest. Lexi couldn't see what was happening to the man but before long she heard a sharp breath echo and Mike was walking over with his own suit jacket to cover up Lexi's shoulder's. "He's gone, he won't be back." He said about the time smoke enveloped the area, the man had been set on fire. That is, after all, how you fully kill a vampire is rip the head off and burn the remains.

Lexi covered her ears as the thoughts of everyone began ramming into her head. "Do you think she was r***d?" a few voices said "I guess she's like a black widow. Mate and kill" a couple of others said. Ryan noticed and yelled "Everyone leave!" He said, holding her ears closed on top of her hands, which were already covering her ears. Everyone looked shocked but left, except his guys who always stuck around, and the girl from earlier, Stacey, who was still wrapped up in his jacket. "All of you, go!" He said as they all looked shocked "But, Ryan I'm scared." Stacey said her voice full of whine which put Lexi on edge, but she didn't show it." What if--" Ryan snapped "Don't!" He barked "But Ry-" she was cut off again "Will you just go the hell away?" He asked demanding as she huffed taking his jacket off and marching off. Lexi looked confused but looked up at him once she noticed his hands were on top of hers to keep the noise out.

Ryan looked down and smiled once everyone was gone."Better?" He asked as she nodded "thank you." She said softly as she bite her lip "Ryan?" She said gently, which made him almost purred. He looked down at her. "I don't hate you. I never could." She said softly, sounding defeated. Ryan held her tighter. "I've been a grade A jerk, I don't blame you for saying it as long as you never mean it. Because I love you more than anything." Ryan said, blushing as she looked up scared to death "Do you mean that?" She asked, a bit confused. Ryan nodded as he wiped her eyes, Lexi went to say something as Mike, Charles, and Vivian got closer to them. "Honey are you okay?" Vivian asked as Ryan helped Lexi up so they could talk to his mom."Yeah, I'm okay now." She said hugging Vivian as Ryan walked off to his dad and Charles. "You know we never adopted you legally." Vivian whispered looking at Lexi who pulled away "What?" She said shocked "You love Ryan don't you, why not give it a try." She smiled as Lexi rolled her eyes "Because that's..." Lexi sighed and stopped with a smile looking over her shoulder seeing him staring into her while the two older men spoke. "Wouldn't that be weird.' Lexi said with a smile and a blush as she turned back looking at Vivian who had been watching them both."No, I always knew you two were soul mates, even before you two were born." She said softly with a smile.

Another car pulled up with a man getting out. "Who's ready to go home?" Charles asked this time and Lexi and Vivian sighed "I'm sure we are all done with this party." Ryan said, taking Lexi's hand, kissing it as he noticed a bruise "Did that thing do that?" He asked looking at the huge hand print on her wrist and she shook her head no as he remembered her saying he was hurting her when Charles came to them "I..I did this?" He asked as she just looked down. "I promise I won't hurt you again." He said kissing her wrist softly, and they walked to the car Mike put his arm around Vivian, and they got into the limo followed by Charles." Well, I will be staying to make sure no one else tries to kill our little princess here." he said as Lexi glared at Charles thinking it was still weird he had showed up out of nowhere and just so happened she was attacked that same day, but said nothing because he was a friend of the family.

The car ride was silent but not awkward this time. Fortunately, Lexi felt more content than she had in a while. She knew she needed to tell Ryan her true feelings, but she was also wondering if this was just some prank, and he would go back to being a playboy when they went back to school tomorrow. The more she thought about it, the more it got into her head and she pulled her hand away. Ryan looked at her sadly and retook it, looking at her. "Get out of your head." He said softly as she smiled. He always knew when she was lost in thought and could always make her feel better.

"Lexi, when we get home I need to talk to you before you go upstairs," Vivian said softly, as Mike put his arm around his wife and nodded. "If you don't mind, it will only take a few moments. Then you can get changed" he said to Lexi as Lexi sighed but nodded "Okay." Is all she said as Ryan touched her leg to get her attention back on him as he smiled happily "Want me in there?" He asked as she shook her head no "It's okay. You need to get cleaned up too." She admitted seeing the blood on his shirt from his fist.
