It was a rainy day in London, like most days. Lexi, a 5 foot 4 black haired and fairy skin tone girl, was outside playing with her best friend Ryan, who was about 5 foot 9 with dark brown hair and pale skin tone. The only reason she agreed to this was to have some time with Ryan. She would never admit it, but she had a huge crush on him and literally could thank him for his life. Because of him and her family, she grew up in a lovely town with some lovely people. She could never thank them enough for being her whole world.
They grew up together because Lexi's mother didn't want her once she realized her daughter was a half "blood sucker," as she would call her. See, Lexi's mother was r***d by a vampire. Luckily, Lexi's mother survived and was saved by Ryan's Mike and mother Vivian, who were on a date that night. They immediately took the human woman in and helped her through the worst pregnancy she would ever go through. The two women became so close and almost like sisters. Lexi's mother was there for Ryan's mom while she was having Ryan, and then three days later, Chloe, Lexi's mother, gave birth to her little girl. It almost killed her, but she fought through it. Both women adored their children, or so they thought. Chloe still had a fear of vampires and couldn't stand the fact she had a debt to them, or so she thought. Vivian nor Mike wanted anything from her, and neither did her daughter Lexi, except for her love, which was starting to go away.
A couple of years passed, and everything was going great. The kids loved each other, and it was like an actual family, but all families had problems. There was a big one Chloe couldn't get over. She was living with the very things that hurt her, and her daughter was a halfling. A blood sucker. Just like the vampire that had caused the problem. Chloe began to distance herself from the small family and her own daughter. One day, the kids were outside playing in the rain like they loved to do, and Lexi saw her mother carrying bags to the car. "Wh--Where are we going, Mommy?" Lexi asked in her scared voice. She didn't know if she had another family. She had only known Vivian, Mike, Ryan, and her mom for her short 5 years on earth. "Oh, we aren't going anywhere", Her mother said as Lexi looked confused. "But you put bags in.." She was cut off as her mom touched her cheek looking into her honey colored eyes."We aren't going anywhere. I am just for a bit. Mike and Vivian will watch you." She said as Lexi looked back, seeing Ryan's parents in the doorway looking heartbroken. "But, but mommy, don't go, I will be a good girl. No more bites." She said, tears running down her face. "Please, Mommy," Chloe wanted to pick up and grab the child and hug her, but she fought against it. "I'm sorry, sunshine, but I promise I will come back for you, okay?" She lied, but it helped calm the small child. "O-Okay." She sniffled as her mom got in the car and left. The water works began once more as Lexi tried to go after the car, changing her mind. Ryan had watched the whole deal and could always tell when someone was lying, but he didn't dare tell anyone that Chloe was a liar. She was family after all, right? Maybe he was just confused and got the wrong vibe, but he was never wrong.
Vivian and Mike soon caught the small girl in their arms and hugged her as she screamed at the top of her lungs for her mother. But, soon, the thrashing around, the kicking, and the screaming stopped. Lexi had fallen asleep in Mike's arms. Vivian sighed as they walked to the door with the sleeping child in Mike's arms. "Come on Ryan", Vivian called as he looked up at her sadly and nodded, walking inside the house with his parents. Lexi was placed on her bed as Mike brushed her hair back. "Just a little nap, Sunshine." He said softly as he walked back outside with his family. "Chloe was lying." Ryan whispered as the two adults looked at him. "What do you mean, Ryan?" Vivan asked."She's not coming back. She is scared of us, " He said sighing he had gotten close with Chloe as well, and it hurt just like it hurt Lexi. "We know." Mike said, gently patting the little boys head."We will be keeping Lexi and raising her just as we have always done." He spoke softly as the muffled cries came from Ryan. Which shocked them. Most of the time, he was a strong child and didn't show much emotion except happiness around Lexi. "I-I," he stuttered, "I don't want Lexi mad at me." Ryan spoke, which confused the parents."She won't be." Vivian spoke this time "But I'm a blood su-" Vivian raised her hand silencing him "There is nothing wrong with that we are, just some of our kinda wasn't raised to like humans. There is nothing wrong with you, or Lexi, or us." Vivian said as Ryan nodded."May I go lay down?" He asked as the parents looked at each other and nodded "Yes you may" They said as he went up the stairs to his room, which was right beside Lexi's, but he didn't go inside. He went beside his bedroom and went into Lexi's to see a sobbing little girl laying on her bed holding a stuffed pig she had got for her birthday yesterday. Ryan went over to the other side, sitting down as he rubbed Lexi's head. "We are going to keep you safe," he said, laying with her as they faced each other, and both soon fell asleep.
A couple of hours later, Mike went to check on the kids and checked Ryan's room, first not seeing his son there. He began to panic just a bit as Vivian walked up behind him." Are they ever where they are supposed to be?" She said, smiling, walking to Lexi's room as giggles could be heard. She opened the door, and there on the bed sat Ryan and Lexi playing with stuffed animals. "You two hungry?" she asked as the smile went from Lexi's face. "I told Mommy no more bites." she said as Ryan gasped."But you need blood." He said sadly."If you don't, it could hurt you." He said, shocked and rushed like his life depended on it."But I don't want to lie to Mommy, " Lexi said as Mike and Vivivan nodded "Okay we can figure out something." They nodded and went downstairs. "Do you think I am bad?" Ryan asked as Lexi hugged him."No. Never." She smiled sweetly
