So now we Graduated and we have our entire lives ahead of us, what now?
Everyone wants to know if the Four Horsemen are going to continue doing what we have been. To be honest I don't know because we haven't talked about it For the guys, the priority must be finding a job that pays well enough to pay off the student debt.
I told Charlie that I would keep it going if the guys decided to leave. Caleb called a meeting in the back room of the Coffee shop. He invited Charlie, Victor, Dema, Luke, Brian, Carol and all of his staff.
Caleb wanted to spitball ideas for us to keep the Four Horsemen going. He already paid us as a part of his staff to help him bring in the evening crowd, but he was willing to make some changes in reality pushed sideways for 3/4 of the Horsemen. So it was to the fiscal advantage of the 50 year old owner of an off beat bistro.to see how he could help Dema, Luke and Victor until they were stable enough to start our law firm full time.
The time came and everyone that Caleb invited started to come in. Caleb had the event catered, so to keep the event down to those who were invited to come, he never opened up that day. Instead he posted a sign in the window saying that the Forever Brewing Coffee Shop will be closed today.
I opened the door with the key Caleb gave me when he hired us to entertain his guests. "Thank you for coming Tolie. You are the first. Please have a seat you are my guest tonight." Caleb wanted to do this to congratulate us on our milestone among other things.
"Can I help you with anything Caleb?"
"You can. But not yet." Caleb smiled as he explained to me why he was doing this for us that night.
About that time Dema unlocked the door and started to come into the storefront. "Welcome Dema. I am glad that you made it tonight." Caleb greeted his guest.
"You bet and I hope you don't mind if I open the door for some people." Dema opened the door to let in Charlie, Carol and Brian. All of them were invited but didn't have a key yet. Caleb smiled and thanked all of them for coming.
More people who all had keys trickled in and locked the door behind them as per the instructions in the invitation that Caleb sent out.
Victor and Luke were the last to come in. Caleb got up on the stage and greated everyone.
"Thank you for coming. We have a few new people here, so I feel a need to introduce myself. I am the owner of this establishment. My name is Caleb Finn, and we are here to congratulate 4 employees that have become rather famous on Harvard's campus. Yesterday, Tolie, Dema, Victor and Luke, all got news that they passed the Bar Exams and are licensed to practice law in the great state of Massachusetts. Please give a round of applause to the Four Horsemen and when we break up please spread some love to them. I would also like to introduce two new employees and TP-USA volunteers, Brian and Carol. Now go eat."
Everyone stood up and headed over to this amazing spread of cold cuts, cookies and fresh made bread. The smorgasbord went over well. conversations were had and Caleb and Charlie came up with a way to help us launch our new careers.
"Charlie, I have an Idea. Do you have a minute?" Caleb pulled Mr. Kirk away from our conversation, but in hindsight all four of us are glad he did. Otherwise that night might have been the end of the Horsemen. The too men talked for awhile and shook hands. What's going on? I thought to myself.
Then Caleb went and got both Brian and Carol. "Boys Carol used to work the cameras at her hometown news station and Brian has worked the production desk at his church for years."
"That is cool but why are you telling us this?" I asked Caleb.
"Well Tolie... Charlie you tell them." Caleb was visibly nervous and I couldn't figure out why.
"If you guys agree to stay on, I will loan you all the equipment that you might need to produce and publish a professional podcast. I will put you on my payroll and you will build your firm's brand through the podcast. What do you think?"
Dema gave Charlie a hug and Luke and Victor shook his hand. "What about you soldier?" Charlie asked looking in my direction.
"I promise to do things in a manner to honor the veterans who came before me. Leave no man behind, of course I am in." I laughed as I have each of them a hug.
Charlie did everything he could to teach us how to drive traffic and the next Wednesday we had a full production team in the backroom of the Forever Brewing Coffee Shop. as always the Harvard students filled the room and the coffee kept flowing as long as the questions kept coming. The arrangement was a true win win.
"Hey guys, shouldn't we come up with a name for this podcast?" Luke asked.
"He's right I was going to go with the Four Horsemen but that is already taken according to Charlie, so we need something else." I told the guys.
Then Brian spoke up. "I know let's call it 'Patriots Must Rise."
"That is interesting. Why?" Luke asked Brian to explain how he came up with that.
Brian was all to happy to explain. "A few years ago professional athletes took a knee for the National Anthem. I shouldn't have to explain why the statement Patriots Must Rise just fits for what you do."
"Good enough, all in favor say eye." From that point on PMR had our name.
