CHAPTER 4: [ APRIL'S POV]

I woke up in this hospital room and the light blinded my eyes'' you finally awake ! '' I tried sitting up but I couldn't , Caroline helped me .'' Do you have any pain ? '' I looked at Caroline '' no but how long have I been here ?'' Caroline sighs '' its been a day you about to get discharged '' I nod '' tell me everything that happened!''

Caroline told me everything and I couldn't believe that I  was such an i***t I should've just walked away while I could have.

A few days went by since I've been discharged and I was currently resting at home - I preferred the view at my apartment it was after all on the top floor. I had this beautiful view overlooking the beach , my apartment was white but over the years I decorated it with some paintings and pictures. I had a big bedroom with a walk in closet and bathroom , when you leave my bedroom there's a spare room opposite- you then come to my lounge which is combined with the balcony and the kitchen is near the apartment door. I have a bookshelf filled with all the books I bought over time and near my bay window is my painting supply.

It was in the evening and I was sitting by the balcony talking to Caroline on the phone , she was worried about me and even wanted to stay over- as she talked I stared at the beautiful lantern lights on the beach and I danced along to the distant beat of ' As long as you love me ' by Justin Bieber. She soon ended the call and I walked back into the kitchen to get a snack but then I noticed this book laying on the floor I picked the book up and flipped it  open , it was a photo collage of all the things I did over the years- from dancing to the  wild parties but one in particular caught my attention - it was Joey holding me up in the air and I  was looking  down at him and smiling. I closed the book and took a deep breath in and out :they say love changes a person because when you are in love you risk everything for that person. I changed Joey -that day I saw him , I saw hatred for me in those blue eyes of his. I have to try and amend everything even if it means him chasing me away.

I woke up with something warm burning my face , I opened my eyes and the sun was piercing through the curtains. I got up, made my bed and took a shower.

I got dressed in this black ripped jeans and a black t-shirt , I made myself some cereal and ate it while taking a new canvas out. I finished my cereal and then I started painting - I couldn't go to work for the doctors orders was 'TOO REST! ' I restarted the design and I settled on this classic design with some pop involved.

I finished the painting by about 3 in the afternoon , I looked it over and I had to say it looked awesome !  I put the canvas aside to dry and I went to wash my hands . I decided to eat out I felt for some pizza , I grabbed my phone and wallet and left my apartment. I walked along the passage to get to the lift but as soon as I neared it , it started closing I made a run for it and whoever the kind person was - waited for me. I made it inside and I clicked the button for underground parking I put a hand through my hair and let it out of  its hair band '' you live in apartment 32?'' I looked to my left ; I swear I never  knew there was someone else in the lift with me - it was this guy with these brown eyes and very good looking body. ''Yes!''  he smiled '' good to know um I'm Isaac and you are?'' I returned the smile '' I'm April , please to meet you ! '' he grins '' the pleasure is all mine ''

I got in my car and drove to Papa's Pizza , that place became my comfort home ever since I moved to this town. I reached the pizza place and entered it - it had this country look to it and it was top  notch. I took the nearest seat and the waiter brought me the menu. I opened the menu to the pizza side " are you ready to order ? " I look at the waiter '' yes I  would like my normal please! '' the waiter smiled at me and soon left. I came here a lot despite knowing the menu I still bothered to look at it in hope of finding a new dish.

I ate my pizza and soon left but as I neared the exit I spotted Joey with this girl who hanged on him like her life depended on it , it was like he knew I was there that he looked at me , I didn't move I just stood there staring like an hormonal teenager freak , next thing the girl and him start kissing I couldn't handle the scene in front of me so I walk out and get in my car , tears just start flowing out of nowhere , I put my head  on the steering wheel and I close my eyes.

                                                                        [ JOEY'S POV]

It was like a coincidence that April and I had to be at the same place at the same time , she noticed me kissing Charissa and walked out I also walked out and I spotted this Mercedes I look closely and I see April , I couldn't see clearly but I'm pretty  sure its her , she's crying. Why would she be crying? I mean did something happen , I took out my phone and called Jeremy.

 JEREMY: " Hey ! Joey what's so urgent ?'' 

  JOEY :  '' Hey uh sorry to call so late but I need to get rid of my warrant"

JEREMY: " Yeah I'm working on it ; give me a week or so"

JOEY: '' Okay thanks , bye! "

JEREMY : " Bye ! " 

                                                                     [ APRIL'S POV ]

I returned to work and I was up and ready to get back to my canvas and of course my favouriteeee- DANCE CLASS. I felt very cheerful today so I decided that today I was going to wear a  white floral lace shorts with this turquoise crochet crop top and for the finishing touches , I wore these white croc heeled sandals and I applied a little mascara , eyeliner and ruby red matte liquid lipstick oh and before I forget I put on this white choker.

I was sitting at my canvas , applying some color to my paint brush until Caroline comes along and I stop what I'm doing and look at her. " You don't know when to stop working , do you?" I pouted at her and batted my eye lashes , she started laughing and I laughed along with her." Cassidy gave us the rest of the day off and yet here you are still painting but that stops now I got us reservations at the Water Front so get your butt up and lets get going" I looked at her and shrugged "and what's with that now? "  I sighed " do we have to go I mean I'm having fun with this painting of mine" Caroline scoffed " gosh you such a baby I wonder how Zack will deal with you when he becomes your boyfriend " I glared at her " Carolinee ! HIS NOT GOING TO BECOME MY BOYFRIEND! we just  friends " Caroline rolls her eyes " we all know that the foundation of a relationship begins by being friends" I rolled my eyes at her  " lets just go before I change my mind! " Caroline smiles " Yippee!"

We reached the Water Front and we got out of my car, I agreed to come only on one condition and that being to use my car.

We walked  along the fountain route , Caroline walked to the reception area while I explored the gardens and it had these amazing red roses which I absolutely loved , I immediately ran to the rose bush and gaped at the roses in front of me." You such a BARBIE!" I turned around and put my hands on my hips, "EXCUSE ME I'M NOT A BARBIE AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ROSES!!!" Caroline laughed at me and I glared at her , she walked over to me and put her hands on my shoulders , " relax will you , come on the table is waiting for us "

We took our place at our table and then this waiter came along " good afternoon ladies " I looked at Caroline and she looked back at me " afternoon , may we know your name ? " I looked at Caroline , she was being really friendly and that's very surprising. I looked down at my menu and then it gets snatched from me , I look up at this rude person and I see Caroline holding it." Before you ask me why I did that listen to me first , we trying the strawberries dipped with chocolate and we will  be drinking lemonade" Caroline  looks at the waiter " anything else ?" I begin to speak " ah yes could please add a dash of peppermint as well" I looked up at the waiter and he was smiling at me. " Is that all ladies?'' Caroline and I replied yes in unison. After the waiter left I looked at Caroline and she was smirking at me " what ?! " I ask her " nothing much its just that the waiter likes you and for once I'm going to suggest that his a good idea" I put my hands on my face and shook my head , is Caroline on drugs or something else. " Caroline could you perhaps leave me in peace its nice being single" I look back at Caroline " you boring what about giving Joey another chance " ouch ! that triggered a nerve I didn't expect this coming " you going to have to talk to him about whatever it is that's going on  between you too '' I stared at her " there is nothing going  on between us ! " Caroline nods " I know but what if you guys give each other a second chance , what if this time its eternal" I narrow my eyes at her " Caroline do you really think we can be together again because you haven't seen the anger in his eyes -those once beautiful sea blue eyes which looked at me with so much love now looks at me with hatred , I ruined him and there is no escaping from him this time" Caroline looks at me with concern '' you wrong , everyone gets a second chance at love and I believe you deserve that love " our strawberries soon came and we ended the conversation there , no more words spoken just silence until Caroline clears her throat and then I look up at her. " Look opposite you ! " I look to where she is indicating and I freeze.

Opposite me lays someone I never expected - Joey! his looking at me very intently and then I start to think back about the incident that landed me in hospital , I can feel tears coming but I fight them off , he gets up to leave and I watch him as he walks away. I sigh and turn around Caroline is absolutely correct I need to talk to him.
