CHAPTER 5: [ JOEY'S POV]

I never expected to see her again; I'm going to admit that I don't even know if I can face her again but I couldn't help but wonder how good she looked eating those strawberries dipped in chocolate. I was obviously staring at her and she noticed it but not that I cared. This is real bad I'm developing feelings but how is that possible?  The rest of the way I drove in silence towards the beach.

I reached the beach and got out of my car.

I walked on the soft and hot sand once I reached the spot where the sunset is quite visible I sat down. Work was really stressful its not every day that I get a chance to see the beautiful sunset. I closed my eyes and took in the amazing oceanic smell but then April came to my mind and I immediately opened my eyes, I looked to my right and I see these children trying to protect their enormous sand castles from the waves approaching, in the corner of my eye I spot someone rather beautiful.

I instantly stand up and walk to where this woman is standing, her back was facing me so I couldn't really see her face but I did have the privilege of getting the back view. She had a fair complexion , she wasn't so short and let me just compliment the fact that she had this body like a model.

I walked to this woman and she turned around , I couldn't believe my eyes - it was April. She slowly started walking away ; it was like she couldn't handle my presence, before she could walk any further I stopped her. She turned around and stared at me " look Joey I don't want to cause any trouble if you let me go you won't have to deal with me and we can avoid something about to happen" I looked at her taking her in " that's not why I stopped you" she looked confused " why did you stop me?"  I started to speak " give me a chance to explain! " she looked around , then looked back at me and nodded " that night it was not what it looked like , that girl Mia approached me and tried to seduce me but I cut her off I told her to leave in fact I warned her. I told her you were the only one for me and that I loved you and that I would never cheat on you, you walked in on us and you misinterpreted things - when you told me its over I thought you were angry and you needed time to think but I was wrong. I searched for you and I spent my days looking and hoping you would come back but you never but I still had hope and then one day I stopped looking for you and I left, I studied and became this successful. The story doesn't end there - I thought about you , I missed you but not once did I try finding you again because you broke it off, April you made me this cold hearted monster which I don't even recognize and it would be a lie to say I forgive you because I don't - I want revenge and after I tried with those letters I realized something and that is I'm becoming a monster- the old Joey would never treat a woman like that in fact I don't even know the old Joey any more thanks to you and now I have a warrant of attempted murder , isn't life great! "

After telling her everything I noticed she was crying , it pained to see her cry, she walked towards me and stood in front of me. She put her hand on my cheek and I leaned into her touch , I had to admit I missed her touch." I'm sorry for everything I've done to you; my apology is not enough to make up for everything that happened to you but I want to let you know if I get rid of your warrant somewhere in your heart please do find the courage to forgive me and I'm not saying this for merely showing off I'm saying this because someone  taught me to always apologize for one's  mistake and although that person isn't here I will always carry out what I've been taught " I looked at April " who is this person?" she took her other hand and wiped her tears and she took a deep breath in and out. " This person is my mother , she- uh passed away 2 years ago'' April removed her hand from my cheek and stepped away from me " I'll get rid of your warrant for you! " she walked away and I continued standing there  not knowing what to do, so much has gone on in her life and here I am demanding justice for my poor heart. I took my phone out and called Jeremy . 

                                                                                     *

JOEY: " Hey Jeremy , what's the status at work?'' 

JEREMY: " Hey Joey everything's good um that art piece got delivered about an hour ago but since you the boss you need to make sure its what you looking for" 

JOEY: " Okay I'll be in tomorrow morning to check it out oh and Jeremy the warrant thing is sorted out , you don't have to worry  about it anymore"

JEREMY: '' How did you get it done so fast?" 

JOEY: " I met April and we talked and she said she will take the initiative to get rid of the warrant"

JEREMY: " Dude are you okay?  , I mean its been 4 years since you last seen her" 

JOEY: " Don't worry about me I'm fine! " 

JEREMY: " Is there anything I can do for you? " 

JOEY: " Keep an eye on April for me and keep me updated on every move of hers ! "

JEREMY: " Okay I will , take care bye! " 

JOEY: " Bye! "

                                                                            [ APRIL'S POV]

I drove to the police station and got of my car once I reached ; I looked at myself in the mirror and wiped away the remaining of my tears. I can't believe I'm an i***t , why must everyone around me get hurt because of the choices I make , why I can't I just make up my mind once and for all.

I entered the police station and waited for the officer in command. I noticed a police officer approaching me " hi miss , how may I assist you?"  I took note of him "hi I'm here to get rid of a warrant  that was made on false charges" the officer nods " what charges is the warrant based on? " I took a deep breath "attempted murder! '' the officers eyes go big " that's a very big case are you sure you want to get rid of the warrant? " the officer was getting on my nerves now.  " Yes who can I speak to regarding this ? " the officer notices my impatience " follow me , I will direct you to the officer in command since his the one who handled your case " I'm surprised " do you know who I am? " the officer nods a little" as a matter of fact I don't but somebody came in a few days ago enquiring about this case but to no  avail the officer in command dismissed the person" Oh that's why " okay I understand! " he took me to the officer in command and I entered the office and took a seat.

" Hi miss are you inquiring about the case of attempted murder? " I look at the officer in command " yes I am , I would like to withdraw the case " the officer in command looks shocked " are you sure about that? " why is everyone asking me that '' yes I am! " the officer in command straightens up " I'm going to need a logical explanation as to why you doing that! " I start to speak " that day I didn't take my medication and the person accused happened to be there at the same time, I felt dizzy and soon fainted , he luckily was there to catch me in time before I sustained some serious injuries - he then rushed me to hospital and the person who filed the case misinterpreted the whole situation and now I'm here to clear up the whole mess made" I relaxed a little after my confession " I see so are you stable ? " I look at the officer in command in disbelief does he think I'm mental " excuse me are you implying I'm crazy and that I go to a mental institution ! " I was screaming at this point and next thing the door opens and standing by the door are 2 police officers, I look back at the officer in command " please calm down miss I didn't mean to startle you" I stop screaming and I begin looking around the office " how about we continue talking about the case! " I look at the officer in command " that's a good idea , how about you just drop the charges and end of the story " the officer in command shook his head " miss there is still paperwork to be signed and things to be discussed " I glare at the officer in command " well then lets get it done with , I don't have all day"

After talking with the officer he finally dropped the case , I signed the papers and left the police station.

                                                                             [ JOEY'S POV]

I reached the office the next day and the art piece made its way to me , I looked at the painting - it was incredible. I called Jeff and asked him what's the name of the artist , he soon told me it was a woman by the name of April of course it was,  she was pretty talented with those hands of hers. Cassidy wasn't wrong to say she had her best working on it. I sent Jeff to the art shop with flowers to thank Cassidy for the amazing painting. I soon attended the conference meeting , it went off well.

I  made lunch reservations with Jeremy and told him to meet me at Talia's - the most famous restaurant in the town and let me just add it was opposite the Realistio Art Shop and no I'm not stalking April. I ordered a classic steak and Jeremy ordered the same , we ate and talked and all of a sudden I noticed Jeremy looking out of the window, I looked out of the window as well. Jeremy was looking at Caroline who was dancing , it sounds weird that a person would be dancing in an art studio but that's exactly what she doing but she wasn't alone- she was with April who was showing her how to dance. Caroline was failing to dance correctly so April took the lead, she swayed her hips left and right and she was so carefree , gosh what is this woman doing to me ?We sat there staring at them dancing and we didn't even hear  the waitress calling us, I immediately snapped out of it and looked at the waitress, she offered a small smile which I returned with an apology. I paid the bill and called Jeremy, he snapped out of it and looked at me blankly" are you okay?" he nods a little " don't get me wrong but I'm asking Caroline out " I chuckled at him and we soon left  , as soon as we left I spotted Caroline outside in the street talking to April" mate give me a few minutes I'm going to ask her out" I smirked " good luck! "

Jeremy made his way to Caroline and greeted April and then he asked Caroline , April walked away from them and walked further up the street I made my way over to her " I got rid of your warrant , what is it that I can help you with now? " I ran my hands through my hair" why do you think I need your help?" April shrugged " um I don't know " she looked at me " I heard what happened at the police station thank you for the effort! " April sighs " oh right , is that all you wanted to say" I narrow my eyes at her " did you want me to say something else? " she looks away from me " no I just didn't expect a thank you" I look at her intently " I do have manners you know" she looks back at me " I actually thought you didn't learn any " I raised my eyebrow at her , was she just sarcastic to me. " April is it possible for us to start over? "  April looked deep in thought " at this moment I don't think so , I have somewhere to be and shouldn't you be busy with that clingy woman- you know the one you kissed in Papa's Pizza ! " ouch that stung - she was definitely being sarcastic and for some reason I'm letting her insult me like this  " okay look I know things are bad between us but I'm genuinely trying to be nice here and you not helping the situation   get any better" April looked around " of course I'm not helping the situation get any better because at this point I can't , I have somewhere to be" now I was curious " and where would that be! "

This guy comes along and greets April , she immediately hugs him- I don't like this guy one bit. " As you can see I'm running late for a date so excuse me!" I look at the guy she's referring to as a date and I give him this dirty look " April you cant be serious - look at this guy you deserve better then him" April gives me a weird look " why do you even care?" she had a point why was I getting so protective , I'm getting jealous but why? " what's the problem that I care ? " April looks shocked " you don't seem to care about anything lately- why me ?" there she goes with that sarcastic tone of hers  " give me a chance! " I ask her " maybe one day " she walked off with her ' date' and I left without Jeremy.

I was currently in my 2 million dollar house ; it had an upstairs and a downstairs ; 7 bedrooms with indoor closets and bathrooms- a study , library , a spacious kitchen, 2 lounges, a gaming room , 2 pools , a garden and a gym.

I was currently in my gym - lifting some weights when the janitor called me . I put the weights down and looked at her " Mr. Arthur an invitation came for you ! " I nod a little " thank you Rosalind , you may retire for the evening! "  Rosalind nods " see you tomorrow "

I looked at the invitation- I was invited to a screening and a party held by none other then Rico Johnson -the finest businessman who knew the Young , beautiful and famous. It was an honor  to be invited by him and I always dreamt about getting Arthur Corporations on his list.
