CHAPTER 6: [APRIL'S POV]

Caroline came over to my apartment mainly to check on her best friend or what I would say - she came to find out about my date with Zack yesterday afternoon.

I decided to make us something to eat instead of ordering pizza. I washed and cut up some tomatoes , lettuce also some cheese , I cooked some patties and I toasted our burger buns. I put everything all together and by the looks of it I whipped up a nasty burger .

We were about to dig in this dripping cheese burger but then the doorbell rang; I got up and opened the door.

" Ms. Carrington " I looked at the postman " yes that's me ! " the postman nods " I come bearing an invitation '' the postman was looking at my bare legs ; it didn't occur to me that I was wearing short-shorts. " Thank you have a lovely day '' I closed the door as quickly as possible.

" What's that in your hand?'' Caroline asks me '' its an invitation ! '' I looked down at it " its from Rico Johnson " I look back at Caroline " that's weird considering how many others he could of invited but I'm glad you got an invitation so now I won't be going alone anymore " I was a little relieved " oh thank goodness you coming along but why did he invite us? " I asked Caroline " according to Cassidy Realistio Art Shop has reached his borders '' interesting " hmm I'm sure ! " I sat down and we continued eating our burgers.

Caroline was picking me up for the event and I still had no clue what to wear , I looked around my room - there was all these different dresses laying around , my options were clearly very vague.

I decided to wear this off the shoulder rose gold evening dress along with these black butterfly party high heel - boot shoes, I put on this beautiful jewelry set , some makeup along with some dark red matte lipstick. I did the final touches and I have to say I really over did it.

Caroline and I reached the event and we walked inside " you know you are going to make many men stare at you I mean looks like there are already men admiring your beauty " I rolled my eyes at her " you are being dramatic! "

We were greeted by one of the hosts and then Rico Johnson made his way on the stage.

Rico Johnson's speech was exceptional -his a man of vision and power. The place was flooding with influential people and to say the very least we being artists felt very degrading " is it just me or do you also feel out of place? " I looked at Caroline " yip I feel the same way " Cassidy came walking over to us with a big smile on her face" hi girls you guys are looking so beautiful'' I smiled " hey Cassidy so are you" Caroline begins to speak " Cassidy I was just telling April about how all the man are staring at her'' I roll my eyes " oh you are so right Caroline in fact some of the gentleman were asking about you April" Cassidy tells us " oh stop it you two ! " they both laugh at me and I roll my eyes. Rico Johnson noticed us and came over to greet " evening ladies I seem to be a very lucky man tonight- I have such beautiful woman in front of me oh and might I add very talented also" Cassidy and Rico hugged each other and then turned to look at myself and Caroline.

" Oh Rico how right you are , they are very talented , this is Caroline - she is the artist who does the drawings , her tools consist of : using chalk , charcoal , conte crayon , pastel , pen and ink and pencil" Rico and Caroline greeted each other and then Cassidy starts looking at me and speaking" this is April she is extremely talented , her imagination runs wild , from painting local to international she does it all. She is a realism artist -able to create and paint things out of her imagination - she is also very intelligent and is passionate about art, life , dancing" I could notice Rico looking at me in the corner of my eye. " Oh my you sure have the best of the best working with you " I looked at Rico and he took my hand and kissed it , he thereafter stared at me and smiled " its a pleasure to meet you April !" I returned the smile " the pleasure is all mine"
[ JOEY'S POV]
Rico is a very generous man ,we talked and by the looks of it we struck a deal. I was dining with the rest of the businessman when I noticed Rico following this woman through the crowd- he looked very excited and there was a glint of happiness in his eyes , this didn't seem right to me. A guy walked up to Rico and handed him a drink , what is he going to do with the drink? my answer presented itself in front of me. Rico walked over to this woman and gave her the drink and then he started touching her and she put up a fight with his behavior . I couldn't handle it anymore instinct kicked in and I followed this woman who was currently running away - how can Rico be such a p*****t!?

I got nearer and I noticed this woman's outfit - it was this beautiful off the shoulder rose gold evening dress and she wore these black butterfly party high heel -boot shoes. There was no other woman at this event that was pleasing to the eye as much as she was; I bumped into her by accident meaning ' intentional'.

" Watch where you going ! " I couldn't believe my eyes " April its you! " I was in shock " you better believe this , excuse me I have to go" she looked to her right and I noticed how panicked she was but I also noticed her beautiful face, she applied some light makeup and she put on some red lipstick - she was absolutely beautiful. " April come with me I have to get you out of here " she looked back at me " excuse me ! I can do that myself " not a chance ; I picked her up in my arms and made my way to my car, she was quite hesitant and kept gripping my tuxedo , her nails were scratching me " let me go! " she begged me "sorry babe I'm not doing that'' I added a smirk " ah Joey I'm not your babe I have a boyfriend let me go! " I stopped and looked down at her " YOU HAVE A WHAT? " April rolled her eyes " you heard me the first time" I was beyond furious she can't have a boyfriend SHE JUST CANT!!!

" Did you kiss him?'' I asked her " that's none of your concern " I was losing my patience " DID YOU KISS HIM!? '' April looks at me " I'm not telling you unless you tell me why you asking " I looked in her eyes and then I looked at her lips which looked so enticing with that red lipstick on. I looked in her eyes and then I spoke " only I get to kiss you NO ONE ELSE! '' I leaned down and kissed her ; she gripped my tuxedo and pulled me closer I smirked in the kiss.

We were in my car, I was driving us to her apartment, I looked over at her she was sleeping- I called her a few times and there was no response, that b****y Rico drugged her.

I reached her apartment and opened the door" who are you? " I walked inside the apartment and put her down on the couch , I walked back to the door and I see this guy looking strangely at me. I smiled at him "I'm her boyfriend" he was so shocked that he walked away. I closed the door and put the lights on , I walked back to the couch and I looked at April, I became furious how dare Rico do this. I took my phone out and called Jeremy:
JEREMY: " Joey what's up? "
JOEY: '' I need you to inform the police about Rico's underground dealings''
JEREMY: " Are you sure about that? you just secured a deal with him ! ''
JOEY: " I don't care! I also need you to take care of this guy called Zack and I need an update fast!"
JEREMY: '' I'm on it! ''

I looked around April's apartment, it was very artistic and beautiful , my phone started ringing and I walked outside on the balcony and answered the call:
JEREMY: " Joey its all sorted - the cops are headed to Rico's den and that guy Zack left town"
JOEY: '' Good job Jeremy! "

I looked down at the beach and smiled I may be a monster or as they would say cold hearted but one thing they should know about me is that Joey Arthur always gets what he wants- this should be a lesson for Rico Johnson not to mess with the wrong person , yeah I can be charming and friendly but I can also be A DEVIL!!!
