We walked along this hall of hell while suddenly, cold, fluorescent light filled the room, blinding us for a split of a second. We stood in the middle of the hall. Who had turned on the lights? All of us looked around, exchanged glances, but only corpses resided here, images I dare not remember. We rushed to the next door that led to a hall utterly bathed in darkness, and as we crossed it, the lights lit up again. Someone was facing me. A face I knew—pitch black eyes, daring me. Manasseh.
