Three As the sun rose, I had lost track of time. I just lay in the bunk bed, the hard stone gnawing into my back. The first sunlight crept in, and I rose slowly to watch the sunrise, as it had been my habit since I can remember. I expected nothing more but dirt and slums to open before me. Perhaps it was exactly because of this expectation that I was taken by such awe. Or maybe it was just the sheer beauty of the view that stunned me. How can one describe something as marvelous as this without ruining it with words? It seems impossible, even now. The sun rays crept over the ground, bathing it in colors of rich greens and places of yellow and purple where flowers would grow. As they lit the horizon and created gradients of orange and cyan, they shaped the mountains and revealed their might
