Alexander's Point Of View:

I swallowed, unable to react. I didn't know what to say or do, I just squatted before her. My hand reached for her face but she winced even before I could touch her.
She had intense fear for me. My lips finally parted to say something.
Before I could speak, someone interrupted from behind.
