When we finally reached the trees they opened, allowing Matilda to walk in between them. Just as I was about to enter the clearing, I was stopped by vines blocking the entrance.
"This realm is guarded by the Fay. "Wolves are not welcome here," a soft female voice said.
"Please, we are just passing through. "We mean no harm," I said.
"Wolves are not trusted in the Fay realms." The voice said.
"Please, we are not here to cause harm. We only wish to travel with my mate and keep her safe."
"I do not care why you are here. "Your kind is not welcome here," the soft voice told me.
I could hear the sound of Matilda's laugh. She knew this would happen.
"Please," I begged. "The Fay people have never been enemies to myself or my pack. Please, we are only here to protect my mate.
