Lyle's P.O.V I woke up feeling sleepy. I look to my side and found a half naked Amelia, sleeping soundly. I sigh. "Why are you undressing?" "I can't sleep fully clothed." "Huh? Is that a thing?" "I'll leave my panties then," Was what she said and did exactly just that. I examined her body. Her body really looks unreal. Her curve was right and she looks like she works out. Her stomach is flat and she has no excess fat. Her breasts are even big and so is her butt. I have never seen someone with blessed top and bottom assets. Really. Her n*****s are pink and so is her bottom lips. I quickly stand up before I awaken the demon inside me. I stretch but instantly regretted it. I yelped in pain as I stretched my wound. I grit my teeth to suppress the scream. As soon as I calmed down, I look at my wound and it was bleeding again. I sigh. I walk towards the door and twists the doorknob. Amelia groans behind me. I stop and turn to her. She was already sitting up, rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes. The blanket covered her lower body but her breasts were seen. I quickly turn to the other way. "Good morning, Princess." I greeted through gritted teeth. "You're bleeding?" she panics. She gets up and puts on a shirt and short shorts. She comes to my side and puts my arm over her shoulder. "No good morning?" she glares at me which made me chuckle. "You're joking so early in the morning." "And you're already feisty as soon as you wake up. Don't worry about me. I'll just call a maid. You can go back to sleep." "What? No way. I'll help you." Without sparing a second, we went down from her room to their personal med room. There was a nurse there but when the nurse saw how worked up Amelia was, the nurse backed away and provided the items. I look at the nurse but she just bows and stands behind Amelia. "There's a nurse though?" "You don't want me to patch you up?" she sounded a bit hurt and pouted. "No, no. That's not what I meant." "Then what did you mean?" I scratch the back of my head. "She's supposed to be doing her job? You're going out of your way to help me?" "I learned first aid in situations like this." "You do this to everyone?" I was a bit shocked. She's not only kind to others but to her surroundings as well. I wanted to clap my hands but I feel like the timing isn't calling for it so I sat awkwardly, shifting. "No. You're the first one I've tried helping." "So, I'm a practice specimen?" she pinches the side my arm. It stings but I didn't scream in pain. Amelia was cute while I tease her. "You want me to treat you or not." I shrug with a smile. "You seem to know what you're doing. Go on." She sends me another glare before doing what she has to. I look around the room and was surprised to see how elaborate this was. It looked like a mini hospital. It has a complete set of IV, even wheelchairs, machines and a tiny secluded room at the back. I'm guessing for surgery. Just how rich are they? "Done." "So fast?" "I'm more surprised to see that you're okay." "What do you mean?" she pulls both of my cheeks. "You're not reacting to the medicine" "Should I scream?" "No, but you could've had a sweat or gritted your teeth, or even closed your eyes." I scoffed and lean towards her, stared directly into her beautiful eyes. I can't get enough of her eyes. They were so beautiful. I wonder what percentage of the world has those eyes. She's rare. "Do I look that wimpy to you?" "No?" "Is that a question? You want me to prove it to you then?" "Ugh, just stop, okay? The nurse is here." I almost forgot. I was on beast mode just now. I look at the nurse who was looking away with a blush. I cleared my throat embarrassingly and stand up. Amelia stands up too and hurriedly came to my side to help me. "I can walk, really." "Are you sure?" "Yes, Princess. Your father knows I can handle this that's why he asked me to guard you." she looks down. "If you keep protecting me, who will protect you?" I looked at her. The world is cruel and that's why there's a very big gap between the rich and the poor but right now, I can't seem to find that when I look at Amelia. It's like we're on equal standing, like I can cross and just be in front of her without judgement. "Amelia," "I know you're trained to protect and other things, but I don't want that for you." I guide us to the living room and the both of us sat. Amelia didn't look at me, nor spoke another word. She kept quiet and kept looking away. "How come you know that we do other things?" "My father can't escape me," she says without any remorse, making me almost laugh at the sight of Mr. Taylor being afraid of Amelia. No, hold it in. "What did he tell you?" Maybe Mr. Taylor also said something about the objective of System High School. Maybe I can squeeze out information using Amelia- no, no, that sounds wrong. She's an innocent girl that Mr. Taylor wanted to preserve. "He didn't exactly tell me details, but he told me that every time you will go out on an official business sent by your superiors, there's a chance that you might not come back." "Oh, is that all?" "Aren't you going to deny it and tell me that you're going to come back?" she turns to me, her eyes watery. Amelia, I don't understand. Why are you like this? We're nothing to each other, but an extension of pleasure. Why are you crying over someone as worthless as me? I don't deserve those tears. "I can't, but I always try my best to see the sun after." Just like a doctor, we can't make a promise that we know there's a small chance of it not happening. I don't want to give false hope to Amelia. What the eight of us are doing is risky. Our lives, everyday, is at risk because of this but if we don't take a step forward, we'll continue living in misery. We also have a family to feed and to lift from the ground. "Is that all you can give me?" "Amelia, my standing in your life is just an extension of your s****l needs. You can toss me aside anytime you want. I am replaceable." It doesn't even hurt when I say that because I've come to terms with it. "But am I replaceable to you?" I didn't know how to interpret that. "Can you elaborate your question?" "What am I to you, Lyle? I know you like Chrelia, but what am I to you?" Is she indirectly confessing to me? Or am I being too... "If you're asking me as a client, you're irreplaceable." "Then as a person?" her eyes looked to hopeful and I was afraid I was going to shatter it. I wanted to keep my mouth shut. "Amelia, please don't do this." "I want to know, Lyle. Because I already.. I'm already-" the door opened with a panting Jamie and Michelle. "QUICK! HIDE!" Jamie shouts and closes the door. I grab Amelia's hand and ran towards her room along with Michelle and Jamie. We heard multiple gunshots and I ducked. "Amelia, duck!" she does as I say and I covered her head with my hand. I could hear the door shatter behind us, but it's not the time to look back. We locked the door and barricaded it with Amelia's cabinet. I look down and saw that I was bleeding again. "Crap." I say and Amelia notices. "You're bleeding again," she panics again for the second time today. "Jamie, what the hell is happening?" I look over to Jamie who was still panting. "We were attacked at Michelle's house earlier this morning and we made a run for it. We heard they were also sending men here." "Did you hear anything else?" "No, President." "How many did you see?" "We saw about two cars following us." I look at Jamie, Michelle, my wound and then to Amelia. "We don't have any guns, but I know the ins and out of this place. We can hide and attack them." I say while looking at Amelia. Amelia, this is what your father exactly meant. I hope you understand. "Barehanded?" Michelle asks in surprise. "Yes, we don't have any other choice." I answered and broke eye contact with Amelia. "Lyle," Amelia chokes out. "Amelia, I want you to call your father and get you both out of here." I signal to her and Michelle. "President, we better hurry." Jamie still looked like he was beaten up yesterday. His face still has purplish areas and cuts. I bet his back is still killing him but the way his face looks like, he seems to be determined to finish this. I'm glad this man made up his mind. "Lyle, don't." Amelia pleads me. "Amelia, I'll come back out of this alive, but I'm not so sure if I'll come back safe." she looks at me in horror. We both know our lives are compromised here, but we can make it so that it's just both me and Jamie. If Jamie came here then it must be because Amelia is the target and that he can't manage to fend them off alone. If there are men worth two cars' seating here, then I wonder if the ones pursuing Michelle is also a two cars' seating. "Just come back," it was soft but I heard it. Jamie looks at us as if there was something between Amelia and I. If it weren't for these guys, I wonder what Amelia would say. But what Amelia was saying can wait until Amelia herself is safe. "Understood, Princess." "I'll call Jamie once we're done talking to Amelia's father." Michelle says before hugging Amelia from the side. "Got it. And Jamie," "President," "Call the others and notify them our situation. Call them for backup too, we don't know if their reinforcement is coming. We just have to make sure." "Got it," We hear another set of gunshots. I grit my teeth. If they saw us come here, then we'll be surrounded once we get out, guns will be pointed in front of us, fully loaded and ready to shoot. Jamie and I need to hurry before they pinpoint our location. "Amelia, Jamie and I will immobilize the near hostiles. Jamie will call once we're done, so you need to run and find somewhere far from here." "I will," she sounded a bit disheartened. I sigh and hugged Amelia from the other side since Michelle was clinging to her other side. "Once we're finished here, we can do what you want." I whispered in her ear that only us can hear. "You mean that?" "I do. So chin up." I lean back and smile at her before looking at Jamie. "Move out." I say to Jamie. "Roger that." Jamie opens the door cautiously and peeking outside if there were men. Jamie opens the door entirely, signaling that it was fine to go out. I look back and made sure the girls know what to do. They nod at me before I closed the door slowly, not to make a sound. Thankfully the manor has many rooms. It will take them some time before locating the girls. Jamie and I stealthily run while ducking, looking down, spotting a few hostiles with radios. It will be a headache if they spotted us. We head footsteps coming to our way and we hid right away. Two men came walking, guns down and laughing. They're slacking off. Even if we don't have any weapons, we're still dangerous. I took their understatement and complacency as an insult. I stand up and cautiously and slowly knocked them out. I caught their bodies before falling down and grabbed their guns. AK-47? Not bad. Jamie approaches me then puts his phone back in his pocket. "Done informing and asking for backup, President." "Good work. Equip yourself with this." I hand him the other AK-47 before taking position. We proceed with caution before spotting another set of men. They were a pair like the last time. Jamie and I took each a man before proceeding again. I sneak up ahead and noticed that there are men far ahead. "Contact the girls and tell them that it's secure to run now." "Roger that." Jamie contacts the girls while I look out for us. "Done, President!" "Good-" Suddenly, men came running to our direction. I reacted by standing up and firing at them. They were suddenly many. "FIRE!" someone yelled from their side and countered our attack. About four men were down by our shot but they were still many. How the hell did they get so many? I look over at Jamie who was in the same confused state as I was. I sigh. I slide down the wall and shot them. I made sure to peek just a little, not giving them enough to aim at. Jamie followed my lead and did the same. Men were down and bullets were being fired rapidly. The manor was now a battleground. The walls were now puckered, wounded and holes emerged from the bullets. "Proceed with caution!" I yell to Jamie. I grab the vase in front of me and threw it at the center of the battlefield. The men were fooled and focused their attention to the vase and shot the vase until the dirt inside was scattered. Jamie and I used that opportunity to shoot them. Bodies fell down with a thud, some were sliding down the stairs while all being bloody. How many lives did I take? I felt myself vomiting. I closed my eyes and ceased movement for a second. I feel so disgusted at myself. Though a question popped. Why did they suddenly come running here? Who gave them the information? Signal? There was no shout, so was it through the radio? "If someone reported to them, then SOMEONE KNOWS WHERE THE GIRLS ARE." I shouted and started running. Jamie followed after me in a panic. Who? Who was it? We didn't see anyone. Unless it's also someone with special skills like us. Crap. Then how come I didn't notice? If we're too late, then f**k. I run to where the girls headed, following my instincts of where they were. But where can they run? "Don't have s*x in the master's bedroom." I don't know why Mr. Taylor's voice came in suddenly, but I felt that we should head there. I run to that direction and hastily opened the door. The girls were unharmed, they were sitting on the bed while a person was standing in front of them, the face covered but judging from the physique, it's a woman. I can tell by how skinny the person was and the small breasts. "Lyle!" Amelia says. "Jamie," Michelle released a sigh of relief. "Who are you?" I slowly take a step forward. "Woah, woah, there. Don't take another step forward, Hostile 001." even the voice is a woman's. Who is she? To be able to escape my radar. She's not someone I can handle so easily. A sweat trickled down from my forehead to my neck. "What do you want." "I want you to cancel your upcoming mission." Mission? Don't tell me this woman knows? I look at Amelia and then to Michelle. Jamie steps up so now we were standing side by side. "We're not really the boss of that so we can't do that." the woman stretches her arms. "Well, too bad. I'll just have to cripple you." she takes a step forward and so does Jamie. "You sure you can take me, pal?" Her eyes. Her eyes were long far gone. I could see how tired she was, how worn out she was. I feel like I'm looking at myself in the future. A tug in my heart made me grab Jamie's shirt. "President?" "She's not someone you can handle, Jamie. I don't think I can either." Jamie's eyes shot wide. I took a step forward. "Well, look at that." she was clearly amused. "If your objectives aren't the girls, then can I fight you outside?" I'm walking to my death, aren't I? I can see it. Me in a coffin but I refuse. The woman shrugs nonchalantly. "Sure." "Lyle, no!" "President! We can-" "Are you out of your mind, Lyle?" "I'll do you a favor and give you hints since you're so brave. Let's go?" It was funny how civilized she was. "Don't watch. I'll be embarrassing to look at. I'll lose for once." I chuckle at the three of them who were worrying. "Lyle, no." Amelia can wait. "Jamie, make sure to not let anyone past this door." "President," "I'm not hearing an answer, Jamie." Jamie pursed his lips together before looking away. "Understood." "Here," the woman throws me a knife before jumping to the window. I look down at the woman. She uses the knife to help timing her fall on the ground by engraving it on the wall. I sigh. I did the same and followed her to the garden. My heart was beating fast. "Are you sure you don't want to gang up on me? You might stand a chance." her voice was provocative but it wasn't going to lead anywhere. "I can only risk my own life." "The small price you can give by taking another's life?" I was even more confused. How does she know? Who is she really? Is that her first hint? She stops and I stop too. A good distance between us. Like a quick draw battle. My fingers were tingly with excitement. I don't even understand why. "Who are you?" "Let's clash while I answer your question." as a word comes out of her mouth, a leap she's doing towards me, knife first. I quickly counter it with the other knife but she was too fast to react and kicked my on my thigh where my wound was located. "Hah. That's not playing honest." The dried blood was now replaced with fresh blood. It was seething in pain now due to the kick. She flips the knife in her hands and chuckles. Her movement were fast and looked like practiced reflex. "You could call 006 now if you want." "No way." I inhale sharply and charged first. "Huh, nice." she says before dodging. I flipped the knife and attack downward, where her thigh was. She saw that coming but I managed to cut her thigh open just a little. I smiled at myself, feeling a little like a winner. She laughs and claps her hands. "I see why they sent me to fight my former self." A connection. We felt a connection. How I see her as my future and how she sees me as her past. But what connects us? Where is the string and how did it get there? Her moves were what we were taught but hers were much more precise and quick. "You're giving me a lot of hints." We both charge at the same time, with a smile on both of our faces. The knives made a clanking sound as it clashes together. We back away at the same time before charging again. She swings the knife to my neck while I went for her abdomen. We both dodged, but she was quicker than me. She swept me off my feet. I fell to the ground, back first, with a thud. She sat on top of me and grabbed my arm. She twists my arm slowly, making me feel the pain slowly. I grit my teeth and use my other hand to implant the knife on her shoulder. She groans and twists my arm quick, finally breaking it before jumping away from me. She looks at the knife and then at me. "Why aren't you killing me?" "Even if I did, they'll find a substitute and they all just keep on coming." I groaned before standing up, making sure not to put any pressure on my broken arm. My wound on the thigh was now painful more than ever. Did I lose too much blood already? "You're crippling me to threaten them?" she clicks her tongue and points to me with a smile. I could see the marks on her mask before her mask was tight. "Yes. That's right. If their best fighter doesn't stand a chance, they'll be sure to back away." "Haa. Who are you?" "Hmm, I can't really spoon feed that to you, now can I? All I can say is that, whatever you think is right, follow through." "What do you mean?" "Man, you have a lot of questions. Then again, I hold all the answers." "Then why aren't you giving those to me?" I wasn't fond of people beating around the bush. "You will soon know once we're done here." "Man, you just broke my arm and you're not sparing me the trouble." I sigh. "I know you don't have a chance if you leave the school that's why I'm telling you this. We'll meet again and the answers will follow through." I shake my head. "Fine." "Oh, I want to give you an advice as well." "You're here crippling me and you want me to give me advice?" she laughs. "You're right. But this advice is going to help you get through your time at the school." I shrug. "Can you hurry up and tell me then?" "Trust Mr. Taylor." I look at her in suspicion. "I don't know what you mean." "Just an advice." She charges at me again, knife first. My knife was still stuck on her shoulder. Her eyes were locked on to my neck. I was now alarmed. I engage in defense position with just one arm, nice. She turns and as she turns, she adds more power to her knife. I don't know where the knife was going and used my arm as a shield. Because of that, the knife sliced through my skin, making me grit my teeth in pain. Blood starting gushing out of my skin. She kicks me on the stomach, pushing me to the ground. There she kicks my wound on the thigh. "GUH." I groaned. "Follow my advice, 001." she messes up my hair before taking the unfamiliar vehicle and driving away. "This hurts like hell." I groaned a bit more before standing up. Both of my arms were limp while my other leg refuses to function properly. I groan with every step I take. I need to regroup with Jamie and the others. "Crap." I lost strength on my leg and was about to fall. I closed my eyes, waiting for the impact when it didn't come. I look beside me and saw Cameron with a sweat on his cheek. "Sorry we're late, President." he says. "I didn't die so it's okay." "She was on another level than us." he says while looking forward. "She was.. she was one of us." he looks at me, trying to process what I just said. "Lyle!" "Lyle!" "President!" The three of them came running from the house to where Cameron and I were. I give them a smile. I should give them a peace sign but both my arms are useless right now. "Yo. I came back."
