Leila had twenty minutes until the bus arrived to take them to their destination, so she quickened her steps. Lily and Susan were already seated when she arrived. They waved at her, and she marched to them. She pulled out a seat and dumped her bag on another. Susan was unusually quiet, but she didn’t comment on it. The less the woman talked, the lower her chances of fumbling. She didn’t want to tell another lie involving Amara. “You’re finally here. We are having scrambled eggs and some toast,” Lily started. She passed the menu to Leila. “We didn’t order for you because we weren’t sure what you might like.” There were different items on the menu. Too many options for her to choose.
