The chilled night air cooled Kirin's burning skin as she struggled to keep her balance on her exhausted horse. Supporting her from behind sat the petite girl, Quinn, the indirect cause of Kirin's current predicament. While she held no personal resentment against the girl, a nagging voice in the back of her head blamed Quinn for Kirin's grievous injury. The voice cursed the girl, screaming in Kirin's aching, swirling head to push the girl off the horse for revenge. Eventually, the voice faded from Kirin's sight as she nodded into the waiting abyss of death. Time passed, though she wasn't sure how much, with the scenery around her changing with every lazy nod of her head. "Stay strong, Miss Kirin. We're almost to the village."
