Chapter 42 McDuff struggled to keep up with the conversation over lunch in Father Hall’s dining room. Compared to the utterly plain guest room upstairs where he’d dressed and even Jean’s more impressive book-filled study across the street, this small space felt far too elaborate to him. Father Hall said he rarely ate in here himself unless he had special guests.
