Chapter 73

2904 Words

Chapter 73 Victoria opened the front door—bundle of documents for Mr. Stewart already created and safely delivered—to check the afternoon post. Jean had been true to her promise to remove the blocks that kept Victoria’s magic so contained. But like so many of her special letters and packages, she carried them to a public postbox a few blocks away as soon as they were ready. Even with that alternate means, getting her family and everyone who worked for them back into the habit of seeing her with the post was essential and long-overdue. She knew of too many households where the all-powerful man of the house controlled all means of communication. Knowing how unusual it was for her father to trust her in so many matters didn’t mean she could allow such restrictions to gain a foothold here.
