Chapter 59 The Haversham’s dining room table looked vast and abandoned when set only for three people. The length of polished oak seemed to go on for miles, as if the end were invisible in the distance. A white cloth meant for a much smaller table draped one end, as bland and nondescript as the silent meal taking place.
