1699 Words
Jacob Ye immediately slapped himself and said, "You are a doctor. How can you do this?" Jacob then felt Megan's pulse and he looked anxious. Wyatt Dong had put a very strong drug causing Megan Lan’s pulse to beat very fast. Megan Lan stood up unexpectedly and pushed Jacob Ye under her body. She mumbled as she tried to kiss Jacob Ye. She put her legs around Jacob Ye’s waist tightly like an octopus. Jacob Ye could feel that Megan Lan’s body was very hot. He was anxious. "Megan, wake up. You can't do this,” said Jacob Ye. Seeing Megan Lan’s confused eyes, Jacob couldn't help but curse himself secretly. As a doctor, he couldn't do this. He quickly broke himself free from Megan Lan and laid her flat on the bed. He gently pressed at one of her acupuncture points. Megan Lan’s eyes regained a bit of clarity. She began to have some consciousness. She wriggled uncomfortably on the bed and pleaded, "Jacob, help me. I'm very uncomfortable. Please help me." Jacob Ye said, "Megan, you have to be strong, I will treat you right away. You will be cured soon." Megan Lan shook her head desperately and said, "No, I don't want you to treat me. I want you... Jacob, I have liked you since I was in high school..." Jacob Ye was shocked and could not help but smile bitterly. They had been sitting together in class for three years in high school. They had some form of a relationship when they were still in school. But since he had a girlfriend, they lost contact with each other. Jacob Ye shook his head and pressed his finger on Megan Lan’s neck. She fell asleep and then calmed down. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Megan, I can't help you if you are so active. Am I that kind of person who takes advantage of others?" He took out the needle bag and stabbed several acupuncture points on Megan Lan’s head... It was done after a while. Julian Zhou called to inform Jacob Ye that the auction was about to begin. He asked Jacob Ye to meet them in the auction center on the sixth floor. Jacob went up to the sixth floor. Julian Zhou and Cole Lin had informed the security guards about Jacob. So the security guards led Jacob Ye to a private room. There were already a few people sitting in the private room. Apart from Cole Lin and Julian Zhou, Wyatt Dong was also present. Wyatt Dong was not happy seeing Jacob Ye coming in. He snorted at Jacob Ye’s presence. If it wasn't for the important occasion today, Wyatt Dong would have already rushed towards Jacob Ye in anger. Jacob Ye was surprised to see an old man with gray hair in the room. He found this old man very familiar. He seemed to have seen him in the television appraisal show. Did this old man come to the auction center as appraiser? Jacob Ye smiled at everyone and sat beside Julian Zhou while Cole Lin was asking advice from an old man on the painting he had bought from Jacob Ye. The old man's surname was Wong, and everyone called him Mister Wong. As Mister Wong looked at the painting, he nodded and praised, "This painting is the work of the late Ben Gu. It's really precious and rare. You don't need to auction this painting, just transfer it to me instead." Cole Lin smiled and said, "Mister Wong, I don't intend to sell this painting. I will keep it to myself." Mister Wong was surprised to hear that, and then he laughed and scolded, "You are making me envious on purpose." Other people also began to take out their own antiques to let Mister Wong review them. Mister Wong answered them one by one. It was undeniable that Mister Wong was very good at antiques. His argument was reasonable and able to solve people’s doubts with just a few words. Wyatt Dong also took out a Ru kiln vase from the Song Dynasty and said, "After the appraisal of Kyle Shen, this Ru kiln vase from Song Dynasty is a fake, but I don't know how he made this judgement, I hope Mister Wong can help to clear my doubts." Mister Wong smiled and said, "Kyle Shen is very professional in the antiques as well. If he suggested that this is fake, then he can’t be wrong.” "Kyle Shen?" murmured Jacob Ye as he remembered the middle-aged man at the antique street. Wyatt Dong pointed out one of the marks on the top of the vase and said, "Kyle Shen only saw this flaw on this side. Mister Wong, please take a look and see if there are any flaws in other places." Mister Wong nodded and took the vase. He looked at it carefully and said, "This ceramic is an imitation of Song Dynasty’s craft. It's well imitated. The only flaw is the one you just pointed out. If there is no such flaw, it would definitely be mistaken as authentic." Mister Wong continued, "This vase is a high-grade imitation. Although it is not valuable, it is good to warn the future generations." Wyatt Dong nodded and said, "I got this vase for 300,000 yuan at an antique collection place. I thought I had good eyes on that but who knows… Ha ha … I will take this as a lesson!” As he spoke, Wyatt Dong actually wanted to break the vase by throwing it on to the floor. These people were too rich to care about losing 300,000 yuan. In fact, they were still happy about it. "Wait! Can I have a look at this vase?" said Jacob Ye suddenly, to stop Wyatt Dong from breaking it. Wyatt Dong was surprised by Jacob Ye. He sneered and said, “Since when does the poor take any interest in antiques?” “Antiques are art, it can’t be judged based on wealth,” said Mister Wong with a smile. "You're right, Mister Wong." answered Wyatt Dong. Wyatt Dong knew that everyone in this room had some status. If he made things difficult for Jacob Ye now, it would seem like he was such a childish person. Jacob Ye took the vase and studied it. He couldn’t help feeling confused. Jacob Ye now had the priest’s spiritual inheritance, so he could see things that ordinary people could not see. Since the last painting, Jacob Ye knew that every antique had a soul. Whether it was from the modern or ancient times, as long as it was a work of art, he could feel it. These souls represented the wonders of the country, and every art possessed a soul. Jacob Ye looked at the vase for some time but still couldn’t prove that it was an antique, but he could feel the soul in it. Jacob Ye knew he couldn’t find any clue at the moment so he asked Wyatt Dong if he would sell the vase to him. Wyatt Dong sneered and said, "It's a high grade imitation and not worth any money at all. I’ll give it to you if you like it since you can’t afford it." He had found out Jacob Ye’s background and knew that he was poor with no status. “You’ve spent money to get this vase, it would not be fair not paying you. Give me a price,” said Jacob Ye. Wyatt Dong frowned and felt angry upon hearing Jacob Ye mentioning that he spent money on an imitation. Although 300,000 yuan was not a big deal for him, it would show how bad he was on evaluating antiques. He sneered and said, “Since I got it for 300,000 yuan, I will sell you for the same price.” He offered that price thinking that Jacob Ye could not afford even 300,000 yuan. But unexpectedly, Jacob Ye nodded and said, "Okay, let’s transfer the money." Wyatt Dong was surprised and immediately provided his account number. Jacob Ye borrowed a laptop and transferred the money to Wyatt Dong. However, Wyatt Dong sneered and said, "Only a poor person will treat an imitation as a treasure. It will probably take half of his life to earn 300,000 yuan.” Jacob Ye frowned at what Wyatt Dong said but did not reply. Julian Zhou knew that Jacob Ye was not wealthy. He wouldn't have been able to afford this had he not sold the ancient painting for one million yuan. Julian Zhou asked in a low voice, "Jacob, did you sense something on this vase?" Jacob Ye nodded slowly and said, "I felt something, but I just can't tell what it is." Mister Wong who was just beside him, was a little displeased about what Jacob Ye just said. Both Kyle Shen and him had identified this vase as an imitation but if Jacob Ye still thought that the vase was a good item, was he trying to dishonour Mister Wong? "Kid, if you have any opinions, you can tell me,” said Mister Wong with some annoyance. “I just felt something odd about it but can’t see anything yet. Mister Wong.” Jacob Ye replied politely. Mister Wong snorted and said sarcastically, "Young people nowadays are so ambitious, dishonouring others to raise his status.” Jacob Ye frowned. He was a little displeased with the old man. Did he offend him by saying his own opinions? Jacob Ye turned the vase and found that there was a rubber as thin as hair at the bottom of the vase. He suddenly understood. "Did you find anything?" asked Cole Lin immediately as he saw Jacob Ye’s expression had changed. Jacob Ye nodded and said, "Yes. Do you have a paper knife?" Cole Lin went and found a thin knife. Jacob Ye took it and gently cut the vase along the rubber. Jacob Ye was extremely slow and soft. After scratching, he carefully picked the tip of the blade on the fine mark, and then put the blade aside and gently opened it. The rubber was lifted off the vase.
