"Then... thank you very much, Doctor Ye, but will this house remain inhabitable in the future? " Kinsley Xu asked.
"That won't be a big problem, though the Fengshui here is not great because otherwise, it wouldn't have been sold at such a cheap price. It'll probably be a better idea to relocate."
"Okay then, thank you again Doctor Ye." Kinsley Xu said as he took out a check, "This is the consultation fee. Please accept it, Doctor Ye."
Tiana Xu on the other hand, scratched her head in confusion as she saw that the check was worth one million yuan. She exclaimed, "Have you gone mad, Dad? That piece of advice couldn't have cost you that much, could it? Does he even look like a legit doctor to you? He looks more like a conman to me."
She may not have seen the ghost, but she heard Jacob Ye's shouting at the evil spirits, then commenting on them. Immediately, she's already categorized Jacob Ye in line as a fake psychic.
"Shut up." Kinsley Xu told her off.
Jacob Ye accepted the check without hesitation. He almost died tonight, so he thought it wasn't a crime to have accepted the money as a reward.
Tiana Xu looked at Jacob Ye with a hint of anger in her eyes and said, "Dad, he's a p*****t, not a doctor."
"Where's your proof?" Jacob Ye asked in reply.
"You... thug." Tiana Xu's face was flushed, red as a tomato. She couldn't exactly tell her father that she got herself almost stripped naked by him either.
"Well, Tiana, Doctor Ye must have been exhausted. Why don't you show him the way back, and let's not come back to this house anymore." said Kinsley Xu.
"Me? To send this thug off? No way." Tiana Xu snorted, her attitude cold.
"Just go." Kinsley Xu went into strict dad mode.
"Dad, please..." Tiana Xu was reluctant, but seeing Kinsley Xu's gaze penetrating hers, she swallowed her words. She glared angrily at Jacob Ye, then went out of the door.
"Director Xu, I'll see you around, then." Jacob Ye greeted Kinsley Xu as he went out of the door as well.
"Is this... an Ultimate Edition of Ferrari's LaFerrari? You're quite rich as a gangster." Tiana Xu exclaimed in amusement upon seeing Jacob Ye's luxurious ride.
"Would you at least explain to me how I'm the gangster? Don't you know what happened back there? We could have died, you know." Jacob Ye would still flinch, thinking about the incident before. The spirit had passed with hate still in her heart, added to the fact that this place is extremely gloomy, she wasn't the typical type of fierce. Especially that last part where she transfigured and almost beat the hell out of himself, his life had flashed right before his eyes. He almost couldn't make it out alive just now.
"What's the big deal? What were you doing in my house, sneaking around... You came here to treat patients, but you weren't doing that. Instead, you were analyzing the Fengshui aptitudes of the house, looking to capture spirits?" Tiana Xu said, dismissing him.
Jacob Ye was rendered speechless. He has indeed become a ghostbuster, looking and fighting evil spirits. Helplessly, he said, "I am a doctor, I just do these things out of my superstitions."
"You? A doctor? Might as well have been a con man."
After a day of hustling, Jacob Ye was slowly running out of patience to be arguing with her. So he opened the car door, a little too abruptly and said, "Miss Xu, thank you for escorting me out of your residence, I should be going now and so should you."
"Who would want to send off a con man like you?" Tiana Xu said, her voice cold.
"Miss Xu, it'd be best if you don't play any more games interfering with the spiritual realm in the future." Jacob Ye said as he shut the car door.
"How... How did you know I was?" Tiana Xu said, shocked to the core. Then in anguish, she said, "You did a background check on me? Are you interested in me? Better give up before it's too late."
She's considered as one of the popular girls in school because of her good looks. No wonder boys adored her so much, it's possible that Jacob Ye could have set his eyes on her, trying his best to get close to her as well.
"Interested in you? Save it for yourself." Jacob Ye was rendered speechless again and acknowledged that Tiana Xu was a narcissistic b***h.
All he did was see a hint of wickedness in Tiana Xu's aura, that's how he guessed that she liked playing games of those nature.
Playing with the Ouija board usually gets you the typical spirits, none that would cause too much of a trouble. It's only a problem was that it would have been troublesome if a vengeful spirit was accidentally summoned.
"Why should it matter to you that I like playing with things like the Ouija board? Only a conman like you would be so superstitious." Tiana Xu said scornfully.
Jacob Ye shook his head, a little speechless. He put the car in ignition and said, "You have such long legs, so soft and smooth..."
He started the car and it roared as he drove away.
"You from the Ye family, gangster, p*****t, conman..." Tiana Xu was infuriated by his words and screamed at Jacob Ye's car as he was leaving her line of sight.
He took a shower upon reaching home. Lying on the bed, he cited the Haoran Special Power chant. A few moments later, he fell asleep.
He saw a missed call on his phone when he got up early the next morning, the call came in at three o'clock in the morning.
He'd always been a light sleeper. He'd be awaken by a phone call, despite having been in a deep sleep. Judging by the fact he missed this call, it meant that it had only been a hot minute since the caller had put the call in, then they'd immediately hung up.
Molly Tao's name was clearly shown as the caller.
Jacob Ye returned the call immediately. The phone only rang for a moment, before she picked it up.
"Why did you call me for?" Jacob Ye asked. He hasn't seen her since he'd cut the Gordian knot in Molly Tao's heart.
"it's nothing. I won't be going to work today." Molly Tao replied.
"That's good. Have a good rest." Jacob Ye said.
Molly Tao on the other end of the line went silent for a while, as if there's something that she wanted to say but couldn't quite bring herself to do it. When she finally worked up the courage, she asked him, "Would you like to come to my house?"
Is this an invite? Jacob Ye was a little confused. So he gave a quick thought about it and said, "Sure, why not? I can take this opportunity to check up on your condition as well. I'll come by later."
"Alright." Molly Tao uttered one word, but Jacob Ye could clearly hear the ease in her voice.
There was a glint that appeared in Jacob Ye's eyes when he arrived at the courtyard of the Tao Family, all that he saw was Molly Tao watering flowers with a delicate watering can.
Molly Tao was donning a light blue dress, with her hair tied in a ponytail, revealing her fair-skinned neck. Her knee-length pants reveals her calves in a shade of jade, and a pair of light blue crystal sandals.
Beads of sweat were formed on her forehead, and though her expression was still rather cold, there was something about it that made her shine through with an aura of elegance.
"You should have been resting, since you've taken a day off work." Jacob Ye said as he took the watering can from her hands. He took out a napkin to wipe away her sweat, before he proceeded to help her water the flowers.
The intimacy between them might have others misunderstand them as couples in love.
"It's fine, I don't have anything better to do anyway." Though her heart was resisting, Molly still acknowledged Jacob's actions.
After she was done watering the flowers, Jacob Ye settled the watering can and went to wash his hands at the faucet. Then he said, "Let me see how you're doing today."
Molly Tao stretched her hand out obediently, as least, she seemed a little less reluctant than the previous times when he tried checking her pulse.
Holding her delicate hands, Jacob Ye checked her pulse. It didn't take long before affirming his own thoughts. He smiled and said, "You're fine now, I just need to give you the acupuncture treatment one more time."
