Speaking of which, the last time Jacob Ye gave Molly Tao an acupuncture treatment, she was dressed in nothing but a pair of see-through pajamas that partially revealed her snow-white skin, and just the thought of it makes his face burn, as his gaze subconsciously falls on her.
Molly Tao seemed to have noticed this, startled, she turned around to face the other way...
Moments later, Molly Tao had changed into a new pair of pajamas. Unlike the last one, this one's a little bit more on the conservative side, though it won't hinder Jacob Ye to use needles on her either. Obviously, the previous needling episode has had her feeling a little embarrassed.
Also, this pair of pajamas were made out of silk. Draping over her body, soft and fluffy, as if the feeling you get when you've just gotten out of dreamland.
All in all, it made Jacob Ye feel even crazier, his heart beating even faster in his chest. This woman, he thought, she looked even more captivating with her clothes on, as opposed to being naked.
Holding his breath to force himself to concentrate, Jacob Ye inserted the needles again. It only took a little while before he was done. With the embarrassment still lingering from what had happened last time, he was able to finish the job so much sooner than the last, though the last needle near the perineum point still had Jacob Ye feeling a little flushed.
Jacob Ye didn't just call it a day, he flicked his fingers gently at the needles one by one.
The silver needles on Molly Tao's body started to tremble a little, as a hot current flowed from the end of the needle into her body. Seconds later, she felt as if her body was on fire.
Then, she frowned tightly and tried her best not to remain silent. The hot current running everywhere through her veins was becoming increasingly unbearable as her body went limp. All she could feel were her lips drying up, and her body sweating profusely.
Thankfully, this acupuncture didn't last as long. Jacob Ye took the needles off of her body and said with a grin, "Your internal organs took the hardest hit because of your depression. Even though you haven't felt that way in a long time, there were some side effects from your trauma, all of which I've removed for you. Congrats, you've evolved into a normal human being."
"That's it?" She thought to herself, somehow feeling a little disappointed. She forgot when it all began that she had grown accustomed to Jacob Ye constantly being by her side.
She may have recovered from her illness, but in reality, it just felt like she'd leapt from one vortex to another.
She came to the living room after a change of clothes, where Jacob Ye was playing games on his phone.
"Thank you..." She managed to get the words out of her mouth.
The way she'd said it, though still a little arrogant and cold, it wasn't to the extent that would send chills down your spine. This coldness, sets her apart from the others by way of her extravagance.
"You're welcome." Jacob Ye grinned, though he couldn't bring himself to stop staring at Molly Tao, as if this Molly Tao on the road of recovery looked even more elegant and glamorous, which made him want nothing but to lay his eyes on her forever.
"What are you looking at?" Molly Tao blushed for the first time in her life.
"Uh... it's nothing, you're just so gorgeous..." Jacob Ye laughed awkwardly.
Right around the same time, there were sounds of rumbling vehicles coming from the other side of the door, followed by the sound of people moving things off the car, and the sound of commanding voices could also be heard from time to time.
It took a while before they were gone. Soon after, another rumbling was heard, as if the sound of a car driving away.
They were very confused, unsure of what was going on outside. Just as they were about to go out the door, a high-pitched cry was heard.
"Molly, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
The voice was of a low baritone, and news of this uninvited guest had spread quickly around the neighborhood. Everyone, including the neighbors, the white-collars, even the busybody aunties were gathered around the front yard of the Tao Family's residence.
Obviously, the sound had came from a loudspeaker, because otherwise it couldn't have been that deafening. In fact, this appeared to be the handiwork of one of Molly Tao's secret admirers.
They stepped out of the house with blank expressions written all over their faces, stunned by the scene unraveling in front of them. Red roses were scattered in the middle of the courtyard of the Tao Family's residence, arranged to form a heart shape.
There were exactly 999 roses. It was easy to tell other than the fact this secret admirer really went out of his way for this event, he was also from a wealthy family. If one rose costed twenty yuan, that meant he just spent twenty thousand yuan on roses only. What a magnificent sight to behold indeed.
Right in front of these roses, stood a man who looked to be in his late twenties, grinning from ear to ear. He's dressed in a tuxedo, accompanied by his overbearing demeanor, he looked like someone with a successful background.
"Wow, now this is called a proposal. That's so romantic."
"These things only happen in dramas, I can't believe that I'm looking at it right now. The girl must be over the moon."
"I'd die happily if my boyfriend does this for me."
Amidst the crowd, some of them couldn't help but fangirl at the sight unraveling right in front of them. They really wish themselves to be the main character of the narrative!
The moment Molly Tao had appeared, her cold yet glamorous demeanor immediately took the onlookers by a storm, putting the other women to shame. There were two types of women in the world, one is to be exalted as high as a snow flower deep in the mountains, while the other could barely count as wildflowers on the side of the road.
"Howard, what the hell are you doing here?" Molly Tao asked, her voice cold.
The man grinned and displayed a smile he thought could rule the world. He had one hand holding a dazzling diamond ring, while he got on one knee in front of Molly Tao, ready to propose. "Molly, I like you, please give me a chance."
Before Molly Tao could even respond, the fangirls began cheering, "Give him a chance, give him a chance, give him a chance..."
Molly Tao shot them a glare and they zipped their mouths shut almost immediately.
"I don't like you." Molly Tao spat.
"But I like you, Molly. I'm serious. Will you let me try?" Howard Zhu said, his voice sincere.
"Don't make me say it again."
"Molly, please allow me to prove myself. I'll be good to you, and we'll live happily ever after." Howard Zhu persisted.
"Mr. Chief Physician, I bet you've said that to a lot of girls, am I right?" Molly Tao sneered.
"I'll admit that I was disloyal before, but as long as you promise to be my girlfriend, I'll love you and you only. Give me a chance and some time, you'll fall for me in the end, I just know it." Howard Zhu said arrogantly.
"Get out of my sight, now." Molly Tao said flatly.
"Molly..." Howard Zhu refuses to give up.
"You're annoying, aren't you? You can't force relationships. If a pig treats you as family, you won't treat it the same, would you?" Jacob Ye felt extremely uncomfortable seeing someone go through such great lengths to profess his love for Molly Tao.
"Who the hell are you?" Howard Zhu, who had been dismissing Jacob Ye's presence, was infuriated, because only then did he realize he might be the wall that has been hindering him from having his happy life with Molly.
"This is my boyfriend." Molly Tao said icily.
Damn... Jacob Ye almost slumped to the ground.
"That's impossible. You don't ever talk to men, so it's unimaginable for me to think that you have one." Howard Zhu scorned in anger.
"Must I make myself clear?" Jacob Ye smirked.
