A black sedan screeched to a halt. Chase Lin got out of the car in a haste with a depressed look on his face. Officer Mao, the Director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau arrived almost at the same time.
"Dad, are you okay?" Chase Lin breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that his old man seemed to be just alright.
The old man responded with a sneer, "Chase Lin, so this is the Oakdale under your governance?"
Chase Lin only lowered his head and didn't utter a single word, casually allowing the old man to vent his anger.
"Dad, please calm down. It's negligence on my part, I know. Don't worry, I'll take care of this. You need to head back and rest."
All of a sudden, the old man started to cough violently, and the tissue that he used to cough into was stained with blood.
"Dad, what happened to you? Get me an ambulance, NOW." Chase Lin was caught off guard.
The old man only shook his head, a gesture indicating that he was feeling fine. He glanced at Jacob Ye and said, "You're a good person, young man. I'll make an offer for you to treat me another day."
Jacob Ye nodded and replied, "Don't worry, sir. Your illness is not a big problem."
The old man nodded and said again, "This young man saved my life just now. Don't complicate things for him." Then he turned around and walked away.
Spectacles Bro, on the other hand, had been scared out of his wits since the very beginning. He was nothing but the gangster with a hundred men working under him.
