Jacob's expression darkened when he caught sight of the waiter's hand which was full of calluses. Even if he had performed heavy labor, he would not have had so many calluses on his hands. Moreover, his left hand remained pristine, without any calluses at all. Only his right hand was strangely affected.

Just as the thought flashed through Jacob's mind, he spotted a dagger in the waiter's hand, heading straight towards Tiana's heart.
"Get away!" Jacob Ye yelled as he sprang from his seat. Before he could push Tiana away, he had protected her with his arm.
Blood spurted out violently as the dagger penetrated Jacob's arm.
Jacob felt a searing pain from his arm. "D*mn it, the dagger is bespoke with barbs on it. It hurts like h*ll," he muttered to himself.
