PROLOGUE "In Loving Memory of Marcus and Diane Della Rossa" Two graves, One body. Marcus' body had never been recovered, considering it had been blown to bits along with his car. 4 years they'd been buried. The graves are overgrown with weeds and the moss-covered headstones are a sign of obvious neglect. He doubted the townspeople had thought of paying a visit. Ice-cold rain beat against his coat and exposed skin. The umbrella was useless. The fierce wind threatened to force it out of his hand. His other hand clenched around the ring in his pocket. A painful reminder of everything he'd lost and the life he once had. A streak of lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating him briefly – A lone dark figure on the hill– as he looked upon the town below. No one knew of his return to Chicago…Yet. They would find out soon enough though. When he'd left 4 years ago, he'd left quietly. Silenced and powerless, his heart was heavy with grief and the mind-numbing pain of fresh betrayal. Not this time. This time he was ready to burn the city to the ground if it meant finding justice for his family. Justice? No, not justice. That ship sailed a long time ago. He was back for revenge. Sweet satisfying revenge. The thunder sounded then, cutting through the noise of the rain and the quiet of the night, echoing for distance as if in concurrence with his dark emotions. "I'll make them pay" he swore into the night through clenched teeth "Every last one of them"
