Mr. Ben was at the dining table, eating with his wife, when his phone rang. He checked the caller ID - it was Tiara. He picked a tissue to clean his lips.
His wife gulped water from a glass cup.
"Who is calling?" she asked.
"It's Tiara," he said.
"Why is she calling? Do you two have work together today?" she asked with a frown.
He shrugged his shoulders and picked up the call.
"Tiara, why the disturbance?" he asked.
"Sir, I'm really sorry for the disturbance," her voice came from the other end.
"Sir, I wanted to know if those are still scholarship programs into Excelsior College," she asked.
He waited for a while before nodding and speaking.
"Yes, Miss Tiara," he said.
She clasped her hands together.
"Thanks. What about Berkshire High?" she asked.
"Two slots remaining," he said.
"Okay, I have two people who are ready to sit and apply for the scholarship - Miguel's nanny's children," she said.
He said, "You finally got the little boy a nanny. Good for you and everyone."
His wife chuckled.
Is Madam there, Tiara asked?
Yes, he said. Can I please speak with her?
She said hello, dear. Mr. Ben's wife asked:
Good evening, ma. How are you doing? It's been long since you visited the company, Tiara said.
Mrs. Ben laughed.
Oh dear, I have been busy, Mrs. Ben said.
What about Caspian? Tiara asked again.
You know how the boy can be, Mrs. Ben said.
Immediately, something fell in the background, and the call suddenly hung up.

Mrs. Green's apartment
Mrs green is a very small and tight one. Everything was kept in the room: a drawing board, a helmet, a skateboard, a bed, clothes, bags, and other stuff. Cathy arrived home and pushed the door open, banging it with force. Mrs. Green, who was sleeping on the bed, stood up swiftly, thinking she was a thief, and reached for a cord sitting on a table near the bed. When she turned, she saw Cathy standing and looking at her with her hands folded. "What is wrong with you? You scared the hell out of me!" Mrs. Green scolded. Cathy just stared at her mother.
Almost immediately, Aiden came in. "What's going on here?" he asked, and Cathy glared at him. "It's nothing," Mrs. Green said. "Is there food in this house?" Cathy asked, going into the kitchen. Almost soon enough, she shouted. Both Mrs. Green and Aiden ran to the kitchen at the same time.
"Holy f*ck, this much food! Mummy, where did you get this from?" Cathy said. Aiden pulled her hair a little. "Must you always create a scene?" he asked. She smirked. "So, Mom, where did all this food come from?" she asked, opening a slice of bread.
"I got it from my boss," Mrs. Green said. "She must be a nice woman," Aiden complimented. "I hope she brings more food," Cathy said with a mouthful of bread and jam, and Mrs. Green laughed.
"Guess what? She is trying to secure a scholarship program for the two of you," she said. Cathy dropped the bread. "F*ck the devil!" she said dramatically and dropped to the floor of the kitchen. "Mom, you are being serious, right?" Aiden asked, and Mrs. Green nodded.
"Woah!" Aiden said. Cathy started rolling on the ground. "Someone, please pinch my eye. I'm dreaming about something good!" she yelled. Aiden just shook his head.
"But there will be an exam," Mrs. Green said, and Cathy stopped rolling. "Must there be an exam? Eww, people just like stressing others for no good cause!" she said, sitting up and folding her hands. "When is the exam date? I'm not waiting," she said, and Mrs. Green muttered, "I don't know yet."

Phoenix Cooperatives.
Mr. Davis Lancaster was a fine-looking man; any girl could die for him. He was wealthy, classically handsome, powerful, and famous - he had it all. He was a no-nonsense man and smiled only a smile that didn't reach his eyes. He was the heir to Phoenix Cooperatives, the biggest tech company in California.
He sat in his chair, his back facing his working table. His office was well-arranged and equipped; one could see he had good taste. He ran his hands through his hair. A knock sounded on the door, and he turned his chair around. "Come in," he said.
A very beautiful-looking woman came in with a smile on her face. "Hi, Davis," she said, and he smiled back at her - a faint smile, though. "Your mom thought I should come see you, and I thought it wise," she said, taking a seat to face him.
"You know I can't just get enough of your personality," she said, and he nodded. "I was working before you came in," he said.
"When are you going to propose marriage to me? That's what your mother wants, you know," she said, walking up to him and hanging her hands around him. "Don't tell me you're still looking for your so-called baby mama. She might be dead, or maybe she ran to somewhere else - who knows where?" she said with an eye roll.
Davis smirked, staring intently at her. "You think so?" he asked, and she just nodded with a shrug. "Just maybe. But we have to get married, or your stepbrother might take everything that belongs to you," she said.
He laughed. "I will get married when I want to, where I want to, and how I want to. It's better you leave here. I was busy before you interrupted," he said.
She released her hold from him and gave him a smile. "I will check on you later, future hubby. I will excuse you now," she said and walked out of the office.
