Chapter 21
LUCAS POV
As I sat in the car, I thought of how I was going to apologize to the kids and Sophia. I knew that it would be a hard task for me to apologize for something I had no control over.
I knew that I was going to be in for a tough time when I got back home. I took a deep breath, and prayed that I would be able to say the right words.
I was nervous as I stepped into the house. The kids sat down on the floor looking really sad. I tried to find words to say sorry to the kids and Sophia, but nothing came out.
I felt terrible. I couldn't believe I had let them down. I felt like they'd never forgive me. I had to do something before they decided they didn't want anything to do with me anymore. I needed to say something and make up for what I had done.
