Lucian
*This damn prick couldn't just do as he's told for once? Got to have me come out here to the docks for no reason?*
Lucian was beyond irritated with his charge's spoiled younger brother. He would retrieve him, but he wouldn't do so nicely. Especially with the way Titan looked at him. Oh yeah, Cassian was in for it and it would start with Lucian.
Lucian walked up onto the boat and immediately heard a drunken party below decks. Rolling his eyes as he quickly crossed the deck and headed below.
*Fantastic, and he's drunk*
Lucian thought he'd have to search for Cassian in the party. But no, he was standing atop a barrel, shirtless with a sword in his hand, daring the crew to challenge him.
*What an i***t*
Walking up behind him; In one fell swoop Lucian kicked the barrel out from under Cassian, put the spoiled prince over his shoulder, and took the sword from him.
"Alright. Let's go. Your brother wants to see you."
Lucian started walking away with the kicking and complaining prince.
"No! Im the heir! I can do as I please! He can't just take me away from my friends for some stupid after invasion report i don't give a f**k about! I want to go home! I didn't even want to come to this stupid island! I should be leading us in the homeland!"
Cassian continued to struggle against Lucian but it was basically pointless. Lucian was triple his size. Though the prince had a training routine and was in very good shape, he just wasnt a match for the giant battle hardened Lucian.
"He is the GodKing, HE does as he pleases. WE obey. HE rules, WE follow. How long until you realize that?" Walking up the steps into the palace, starting to ache from Cassian's tantrum, Lucian's voice hardened "If you continue to say things like that it will be treason and I'll finally get to kill you." He squeezed the prince harder, "Stop thinking you're entitled to anything more then life itself. So far."
Cassian got quiet. It had been clear that Lucian didn't like Cassian on a personal level since the prince was very young. Being that he was nine years younger then Lucian, he tried to like the boy but he just couldn't. Something about him just irritated Lucian beyond belief.
Lucian knocked on the Royal Bedchamber door.
"Enter!" He heard Titan command. As Lucian walked in, Cassian still atop his shoulder, he spotted the GodKing and his bride on the couch they had been but a good amount of the food was gone.
*Good for them, strong appetites denote strong leaders*
Lucian threw Cassian, not at all gently, at Titan's feet. "Your brother, My GodKing. He's drunk and an i***t as always." Lucian bowed.
Cassian groaned on the floor.
"Thank you Lucian. That'll be all. Would you like some of this cake? My wife says it's sweeter than sweet bread. I was just cutting it.", Godking Titan smiled at his oldest friend.
"Why thank you, Your Grace."
He waited for his piece and took it to his post outside the door.
Cassian
*He'll pay for this. That common rat won't threaten me and treat me this way. ME. THE HEIR. The nerve of that dog. Who cares if Titan wants to talk to me?!*
Cassian sat up thinking as he watched his elder brother give Lucian a piece of some odd sweetbread. Lucian exited the room looking like a dog receiving a bone from it's master for fetching him. He stood and dusted himself off.
"What is the meaning of this? I said I'd come in the morning at a reasonable hour. There was no need to send your mutt!" Cassian's voice raised slightly at the last word.
A sharp pain ran through Cassian's cheek spreading to his entire head, and he was back on the floor.
*What the-*
GodKing Titan picked up his brother by the collar of his emerald green silk shirt and shook him slightly.
Roaring in Cassian's face in an almost animalistic voice, "You will listen here, BOY, it is by MY good graces that you've lived this long to begin with! Do you even remotely realize that once I ascended the throne there where calls for your head?!? Do you forget that speaking back to the GodKing or refusing a demand is punishable by lashes?! Do you even remotely remember your place?!?" Titan threw his brother back on the ground and dropped a handkerchief in his lap.
"Majesty?" A melodic soft voice came from the other side of the room, and just now Cassian saw there was a woman in here.
*She's wearing the wedding dress. There's no way.*
Panic instantly shot through Cassian.
*This is it, Titan married that girl and is able to produce heirs, this is the moment he no longer had use for me and kills me off.* He stoned himself.
*Well if he wants to kill me, he'll have a fight for it, if he can catch me*
"Yes?" Titan's tone sounded irritated, but not the pure rage he just had with Cassian. Cassian touched his cheek where the pain started, realizing now why Titan gave it to him, picked up the handkerchief and wiped the blood off his face. Titan had split Cassian's cheek open with one of his rings when he backhanded him to the floor.
"May I please ask that you lower your voice? I very much understand why you're angry at him, you very well should be, I was just hoping Your Grace would please do so for me. It's been a very long day. Please."
*Does this woman really know who she's talking to?!? He's about to rip into her like-*
"Of course, darling, I didn't mean to hurt your head." Titan took her chin gently tilted her head back, placing a delicate kiss on Khaldarosa's forehead.
Absolutely awestruck Cassian sat there staring with his mouth agape. This woman had just addressed Titan, told him what to do, got what she wanted, AND calmed him down in one fell swoop.
*WHO IS SHE!?!? This has got to be a spell.*
"Thank you so much, Your Majesty" Her voice sounded sweet. Genuine. Cassian couldn't believe what was happening right before his eyes.
"Brother, this is my wife Khaldarosa. The last of the Gyren bloodline. She will be First Queen. Isn't she lovely?" Titan twirled her slowly, her eyes never left him until he stopped twirling her and stood her facing Cassian.
*Those eyes. She can't be from a South Seas bloodline*
"Yes, GodKing, she's stunning. Didn't you say she's from this country's royal bloodline?"
"Yes, I am. My family has ruled Aquaria for almost 2,000 years." She spoke directly to Cassian, which took him aback. She seemed Bold, to put to lightly. Cassian confusedly looked at his brother.
"My dearest, normally until coronation the new bride isn't considered Pixen royalty yet, meaning there are still rules around how you address people. I'll have a tutor brought tomorrow." Titan looked upon her gently and lovingly, it made Cassian both afraid and sick to his stomach. His brother, the butcher, was looking that at a woman. A random island princess from the secluded south seas.
"Brother, GodKing, please may i have a word?"
He took his brother's elbow and went to the other side of the room.
"Have you gotten sea craze? Was this marriage done in right mind?" Titan gave Cassian a warning look, that seemed he may have his head disconnected from his body if he kept speaking.
"Not meaning disrespect, I swear upon the honor of The First Queen, I am merely protecting our people."
"I'm in right mind." Titan strode back to his wife.
"Cassian, tomorrow you shall tutor with Khaldarosa. She will learn etiquette, and you will learn history. This island's history. Do you understand?" The GodKing gave no room for discussion in his tone. Cassian conceded.
"Yes, GodKing." Lowering his head and putting his arm across his chest in a bow.
"Leave" Titan turned from Cassian and focused on Khaldarosa.
Cassian stormed out, not caring about the looks the guards where giving him. He didn't want to be here let alone learn it's history.
*Is Titan Mad?*
