"What?"
Young Lucas exclaimed.
It is crazy enough that he finds out that his own father has rejected him. He now realizes that his father and his family are responsible for his mother's sickness.
"This is impossible, mother. There must be a mistake somewhere."
Lucas tried to convince his mother but Linda will not have it.
"I wish I could tell you that you are right, my son. But unfortunately, it is true."
Linda is a master in the art of subtlety so she could easily sound pathetic. Young and innocent Lucas had no other choice than to be this mother. She was easily convincing.
