I almost died when my mother made that announcement.
"How could she do that to me?"
I said to my wolf.
"Well, I guess it's about that time again."
My wolf replied, jesting.
This is obviously a setup. Little wonder she made me dress so fancy for the dinner. As Mother stepped off the stage, a lot of ladies rushed me, trying to get my attention. I was raised never to be rude, so I just fake smiled all the way through. I didn't know what to do again.
I signaled to Juan and he came to my rescue. I was so grateful as he reached out to other members of my pack and they became my defense. I slipped out of them to confront Mother.
"What are you doing, mother?"
I whispered harshly to her.
"I don't understand. What do you mean?"
