Chapter Seventeen

Aadhya Mehra

Along with my dress, everyone are taking their dresses too and I got to know Rehan is the one paying for mine.

'Di, let's take Aadhya's dress first' Chachi said as we entered the textiles

'You passed out in which year from DIAS?' Anvi asked as we both others.

'2016-17'

'So that means, when I was in 12th you must be in 8th, right'

Woh, she too is from DIAS. Everyone is from there, basically

'You also from DIAS' I asked with amusement. 'Yea, that's why this is here' She said flaunting her engagement ring. We laughed together and talked about our school days. She's an interior designer and Sanjay and she fell in love during their school life and last year they got engaged.

She's a really nice person and we both became friends, exchanging numbers and Insta ID for outing and all. I really liked his family. They're so cool and fun.

We reached the shop at 5 and it's almost 8 now. We chose a gown for me. His mom told me during the all wedding functions I'll have to wear lehenga, so it's better to select a different dress and I liked that opinion.

'Do you mind if it's late, reaching home' Anvi asked, pulling me to a corner.

'Why will be. They're paying the bill right' I asked and she smiled at me. 'Your fiancé would like to have dinner with you'

I bit my lip to stop smiling and she laughed getting her answer.

'Badi maa, Mom we're here and you can leave happily with Suresh Bhayya' Sanjay, uhm what should I call him bhai?, said as we all reached near the parking area.

The car came and he hurriedly pushed everyone inside the car not answering their questions, and kept the bags inside the trunk.

He waved at them and chachi and his mom smiled at us shaking their head.

I felt a nudge by my shoulder and the warm feeling passed through my whole body. I turned to my right and saw him smiling at me.

He wore a white t-shirt and black pants. 'I can't hug you and greet you right' He asked with a pout as I nodded no smiling.

'But you have a problem with half hug' I nodded no at him and I'm sooo sure he must've noticed my reddened cheeks. He passed me a huge smile and wrapped his left hand around pulling me to his chest.

I've never ever been this close to a man and I felt sudden goosebumps all around. I felt my body being hot with this foreign feeling. Is it gonna be like this, everytime he hugs me.

He pulled from the hug but kept his hand around me. 'So where do we going?' He asked but since I was still having butterflies not only in my stomach but all over me, I kept my mouth shut and inhaled his wonderful cologne.

'M-grill and let's have some grilled chicken' said Anvi. Everyone agreed with her and she with Sanjay walked infront.  Rehan took his hand and bought the textile bag from me.

'Can I see it' He opened the bag and I hurriedly bought it back. 'Nope. And you took the dress?' He nodded no. 'Sanjay's younger brother, Rahul will come home tomorrow as he had been away for his cricket match. We all will go together'

'You know there's something special about today' He said smiling to himself and I looked at him for answer. 'I've gone out with both of them many times but it's the first time, I'm having someone with me'

Ohkay. Now I'm admitting. I've got a huge crush on my fiance. I've started to like him so much. He's trapping me with his talks and sweet gestures and I'm totally okay with it.

'Wait. Let's take a photo' Anvi said as we entered the restaurant. She took a selfie with us and my body shook again when he kept his hands on my back smiling towards the phone.

Me and Rehan sat opposite to Anvi and Sanjay. 'Im glad you liked my selection' He said looking at the bracelet then at me. 'Liya do have selection sense' I said back and he smiled rubbing his neck.

'Cant I make a good impression on my fiance' He asked with a sigh. 'He don't have to do anything, fiancé already like him'

Did I just say that. Oh god. I looked everywhere but him. 'Well then, tell my fiance I like her too' he cleared his throat and to my luck the waiter arrived with our food.

'The treat is on us as your engagement gift' Sanjay said raising his glass of water along with Anvi. Me and Rehan raised our glass and said cheers.

'You can order anything you want Aadhya, because this guy is a real miser' Anvi pointed at Sanjay earning a glare from him. 'Do you have a nickname Aadhya. Coz in our family, everyone is called by their nicknames' Sanjay said and I nodded.

'Yah, Diya'

'Nooo' Rehan groaned while Sanjay laughed. 'I'll call you Aadhya and no one will call you by your nickname' Rehan firmly said.

'The girls names in their family are rhymed. Liya, Rhea, Jiya, Piya and Rehan hates that. And Liya cursed one day that his wife's or daughter's name will be ending with iya. Seems like it came true' Anvi laughed with Sanjay.

I smiled at Rehan who turned towards me. 'Im really sorry dear but you'll be called Aadhya'

'Yah, let's see' mocked Sanjay

'I begged mom not to put Rhea, because it rhymed with Liya. Then when I went to his house, they fixed their newborns name Jiya and after 5 months, my other chachi gave birth to a daughter and they named her Piya. Now please, I will not be able to bear Diya' I laughed at him seeing him folding his hands.

'But isn't it cute. Liya Rhea Jiya Pi-'

'No don't complete that. It make me sick. You can keep your name but please don't tell anyone specially to Liya' I nodded at his begging. But I'm sure his sister will find about it soon.

'What's the age difference between you and Rhea'

I really didn't find any problem with my question but as soon as the question came out of me, Rehan and Sanjay started laughing looking at each other. I looked at Anvi who looked confused as me.

'She didn't tell a joke. It was a question' Said Anvi but they were not stopping. I held Rehan's hand and he cleared his throat smiling at me.

'18' He looked down for a before looking at me. 'It's the first time someone asking me the question when me and Sanjay are together'

'So...' What's wrong with that.

'Uhm..I was in 12th when Mom was pregnant with Rhea, it was pretty much embarassing for a 18 year old. Me and Sanjay studied together, so he told my close friends that I'm going to be a big brother. I was too much embarassed already and in addition there will be his teasing too' Rehan looked at Sanjay, who hid his laugh and ate the food.

He continued, 'Then after two months, I noticed Sanjay not talking to me much and always keeping a distance. That's when I found out Chachi is pregnant' Rehan let out a small laugh with Sanjay. 'I had never been that happy before. Next day it was Saturday, second period Sumitha Miss's Biology. Since it was Saturday and the class was only upto 1pm many were absent that day. Sanjay sat in the last bench alone, so I sat near him. We didn't talk anything. Miss came-' Rehan couldn't complete and started laughing again.

The people in the restaurant looked in our direction and I shook Rehan.

'Sorry. Sorry. So, uhm, Miss came and said "We're going to start our new chapter reproduction" And we both laughed out loud. Real loud. Miss shouted thinking we are joking about the chapter but really we were laughing at our condition.'

This time me and Anvi started laughing. Joined by them. I wiped the tears and drank water. 'She took us to Princy and still we were giggling standing in the corner of his cabin. So they called our parents. Dad and Chacha couldn't come so our Prakash Chacha came, he is just 15 year elder to us. Princy said we couldn't control our laugh in biology period and hearing that he too started laughing'

We four laughed for a good few minutes until a waiter had to come to stop us. 'So how come they both are born on same date?' I asked with the new information I got today while shopping.

'Badi maa went to labour and she had complications, Mom heard about that, her BP rose and had a premature delivery. Jiya was in incubator for some time but all ended in good' Said Sanjay. 'We'll be back' He said leaving with Anvi.

'Come' Rehan pulled me closer opening his phone's camera. Now I'm really used to his touching that there's still warmth all over me. Oh god, why.

'Can I post this?' He asked and I nodded at him.

'Congratulations and celebrations' Anvi and Sanjay sang as they bought a chocolate cake towards us. #RehanfoundAadhya was written on top.

'This is gonna be your wedding hashtag' Sanjay said as they kept the cake on the table. 'Say cheese' He clicked our photo together as me and Rehan smiled at each other with He pulling me closer.

So I wrote this chapter from 4am to 6am. So when I wake up it'll be so heartwarming to see your comments and votes.
