"Aaaaaaaaaaaaa-"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-"
What the hell!
I wiped my eyes and sitting on the bed. I switched the lights on, it was 3 AM. And who the hell is screaming now!
I turned to find Aadhya but she was not there. Oh my god, is she the one screaming.
I quickly wore a shirt and ran downstairs. The lights were on when I reached down Mom must be up. Aadhya was covering her face, looking down in fear, Ved was opposite to her standing shocked with an apple and a knife in his hands.
"Hey it's fine, fine" I patted her back and she removed her hands and looked at me. Her face was red and she was looking terrified.
"What happened Aadhya" Mom ran to us and we both looked at Ved for an explanation. He has not moved an inch from his place. Dad patted him to make him come out of his imaginary shocked world.
"Uhm--i came to drink water and I didn't know where is the kitchen or the switchboard to switch the lights and--" Aadhya was trying her best to not look anyone. And by the time Reshma Aunty and Yash Uncle had come from downstairs.
"I..saw a shadow of someone holding knife and coming at me and--" She removed the strand of hair from her face and not lifting her face
"I was hungry and came to eat an apple" Ved showed us his apple and knife and I tried my best to control my laugh and seeing me Dad signed to shut up.
"Okay. I...uhm, Aadhya, that way you can go to kitchen and this is the switchboard. I'll show it you today morning, but now Rehan--" Mom smiled in between her words and glanced me to take Aadhya.
"Ya let's go" I held her arms. And we are very well hiding our laugh because already she's embarassed and we don't want to add oil into it. But I know this will pop up after sometime. I very well know my family.
"No one is going to forget that, right?" She sat on the bed and I sat beside her closing the door.
"It was like there was some prize for the one who screams loud. Chachi must've heard it from their house" I laughed.
She stood up and ruffled her hairs. This girl have a nice long silky hair. "It's a nice way to start my first day" She cried sitting beside me again.
"Okay, but it was sight to see"She hit my arm in annoyance.
"Okay, I won't make fun of you again"
I pulled her into bed and she laid on my chest. This feels so good. I've this woman to spent my entire life with. To share laugh, to fight, to make pranks and for everything.
"Seriously, that loud--" before I could finish she started to beat with me with pillow and I was laughing hard.

I really wish this to be a good day, my first day. And I'm trying hard to forget that early morning incident. Why the hell did I scream so much. Think about itself makes me feel giddy.
I was all ready and it's time to go down. "Look, I'm all good and nice, so my family will be like that right" He said opening our bedroom door.
I shook my head. "You're anything but nice. Huh"
"But you don't have a choice right" He smirked and I shrugged my shoulders in reply.
We reached downstairs and he showed me the kitchen. I mumbled "I'm fine" to his unasked question and started walking but I'm anything but fine.
In kitchen there was Daadi, aunty, aunties and Chachis. Okay, I guess I was late. They were all talking and making breakfast I think, of course they're stupid Aadhya.
"Good morning everyone" Rehan loudly wished everyone and the ladies replied smiling at me. Rehan gave me a little push on the back and went. Oh no!
"Come here beta" Aunty called and I walked towards her. They were making lots of food because of the members count.
"It's a great time to enter the kitchen on your first day Aadhya" Kanika aunty smiled but I know that comment and smile don't go well. And that was a 100 percent fake smile.
It's utter embarassing. I looked down and I tried real hard to not let a tear come out or show the difference in my opinion. "I'm sorry"
Aunty nudged my shoulders and looked at Daadi "Maa, you remember how late I was the first day after marriage" She laughed along with everyone and I passed her a smile.
Daadi paused cutting the vegetables "I think now it's a passing down thing. First it was you, then your daughter-in-law and Aadhya beta tomorrow you'll daughter-in-law will do that too. So take care"
Everyone laughed at her comment and I noticed Kanika aunty kneading the dough with a hard face. Oh my god, does she not like me?
But what the heck have I done to her. If it's still about her daughter's thing, I don't know what to say that. She shouldn't have bought that getting Kavya married to Rehan into her mind.
"Aunty can I do something?" Standing in the kitchen and not doing any work is pretty not my thing. I love cooking and eating. I have this notion inside me that I'm Monica and Joey - one cooks well and other eats well.
She looked at me for a second before turning the gas off. "You're not going to call me Aunty, call me--"
She left her sentence in air and I completed it "Mom..."
I miss my mom so much and I haven't gotten my phone, I think it's still in my house.
"Yes that's correct and no you don't want to help me, but I'm giving you a tough job go and wake up all the girls" I nodded and began to walk. I seriously don't know where this girls are!
I need to search for Rehan, my guide first.
"Seriously bhabhi, she's your daughter-in-law and you're not making her to any work"
Okay! Does this Kanika seriously aunty hate me. Yes. She does!
"Till now I had only four children and from yesterday it turned into 5 and that's the only difference that has happened in my house. I got a daughter not a slave and there's Liya still sleeping in her room and I didn't call her to help me. Sometimes only I call her to help me in the kitchen and to me Aadhya is same. She's only just few years elder to Liya and that doesn't mean she has to work in the kitchen all the time"
Aunt-- No mom had a firm face and whatever she said made me to be a bit emotional. I smiled at her and walked past the kitchen.
Rehan was correct. Not only him his family is also nice, except for you know.....
How was it!
