Chapter 31

The shock on Luke’s face was enough for Ryan to gloat about it.

“How could you?” He barked at him.

Luke could have expected anyone else to betray him but not Leo, his closest confidant.

“It must be really painful to realize that the one you trusted more than anyone would be the same person to stab you in the back” Ryan said.

“Why?

Why would you do such a thing, why would you betray me?” Luke asked Leo standing in front of him.

His eyes had no remorse for what he had done.

“What reason could you think of?” He asked back.

“What?”

“You have given me nothing but misery, because of you I lost my position as the Gamma to stay by your side but all you could come up with was a thirty man riot to kill the Alpha” Leo stated and Luke was mortified.

“But”

“But what, I chose to stay by your side because we were best friends but you have nothing to offer me. I couldn’t sit back and watch someone else take what belongs to me” he added.

“So this is all because of your title” Luke asked.

“Ofcourse, what else would it be. I tried to see the future with you but there was nothing” Leo replied.

Alpha Ryan watched the best friends fight and he was thrilled by it, he had n’t beg thought he would see a day were Leo would betray him, they had been close friends since childhood and Leo was everywhere Luke was making them inseparable. When he had offer for him to work as the Gamma leaving Luke behind, he thought about the rejection Leo would give him because of how close they were but who knew that Leo would regret his decision and turn his back on him on his own accord.

“After everything we have been through together, this is how you repay me” Luke warned. His hand clutching tightly the silver bars, his gaze terrorizing Leo.

“I should be telling you that” Leo stated.

“What did I ever do to you?” Luke asked.

“It is not about what you did to me but more about what you could offer. Let me ask you something, was this plot of your not to kill Ryan and reclaim Violet” Leo asked.

“It is true, I was going to kill Ryan to get my mate back but you would also get what you want in the process” Luke replied.

“Did you think it would be easy to kill the Alpha with thirty men and take his breeder”

“Don’t you dare call her that” Luke yelled provoked by the words he referred to Violet as.

“Why does it hurt so much for you to realize that your mate is a breeder and nothing but a breeder”

“I am warning you Leo, I can anything but not a single insult to my mate”

Leo took a step back and laughed,

“I had faith in you, I believe in you until I realize that all you were doing was just for her”

“What is wrong with that, you want to tell me that if you were in my shoes you wouldn’t do the same for your mate. Oh, I forgot. Your mate doesn’t want you that’s why you can’t understand me” Luke lashed back.

“How dare you?” Leo yelled.

“What is wrong, you wanted your position as the Gamma, well you have it now. Good luck getting your mate” Luke mocked him.

“Now this is fun to watch”

“Shut up Ryan” they both yelled at him like he was nothing.

Hearing His name being called without his title, Alpha Ryan was taken aback by how they referred to him.

“I will see to it that you will never get out of here, the mate you so long and desire would never be yours” Leo warned him.

“I swear to you Leo that I will kill you with my bare hands if you dare to touch her”

“I will like to see you try” Leo lashed back and then walked away.

“Leo” Luke roared for him to get back but he was long gone. He turned back to Ryan.

“Don’t look at me, it was his decision to leave you. You can’t blame me for you being incompetent” Ryan stated.

“You must be happy”

“I had warned you leave the pack when you had the chance but you refused. Now you are going to face the consequences of that.

Once again Luke, you lost and I won” He said and walked away.

The next day,

The member of the Black moon pack were summoned to the packhouse by the Alpha.

“What could this be?”

“Why are wed here?” They asked themselves.

Luke was taken out of his cell and presented before the pack.

Michael took his stand in front of the people,

“Member if the Black moon pack, it is with regret what I am about to say. Just a day ago there was an attempt on the a Alpha’s life” Michael disclosed and there was great murmuring among the crowd.
