Chapter 9

Uncle Mike, what are you doing here!" I yelled as I gave him a hug.

"I missed you so much, Killer! How have you been?" he asked, holding me away from him at arm's length.

“How's mom?" I asked, sitting on the couch.

"Pissed at you. But more at herself for how she acted when Max left and for not seeing what was happening to you. He was the last reminder of dad, you know." I nodded and sighed.

Everything got so complicated when Max left. I got bullied and beat up sometimes. Mom didn't do s**t and Alexander tried to stop it, but they never listened.

We talked for hours. I found out that Mike was the Alpha. Alexander found his mate. Mom was re-mated and was pregnant with twins.

"I know you two just got back together, but we need to train. Did you want to train with us?" Jeff said as he walked over to us.

"No, I was going to let my niece fight without me." Uncle Mike said with so much sarcasm. "I was her combat teacher when she lived with us. You know, because she hasn't shifted yet." he said the last part in a whisper.

"Ya uh, why do you think I'll even shift? I mean, I'm almost seventeen. Just next November, and I'm seventeen. When was I supposed to?" Max and Uncle Mike sighed and looked at each other.

"When you were ten." Max was the one to say it.

"That was six years ago. I'm not shifting. Maybe something happened, or I'm not meant to be a werewolf." I told them. Yes, it hurts a little, but it's not the end of the world.

"Well, there is a way. But you're not going to like it." Jeff said as he looked up to Jason and Mike. They have a combination of emotions in their eyes.

"Spill. We don't have all night." I laughed.

"Werewolves...." he paused and looked to Jason and my uncles as if asking for permission.

"Werewolves? Come on, Jeff." I pushed.

"Well..." he did it again.

"Jeff." I pushed again.

"Sometimes to bring someone's wolf you'd...."

"You'd what?"

I looked at him like he grew two f*****g heads. "What? Can you say that slower." God I swear he’s acting like he is a kid.

"You'd have to mate with your mate in order to bring your wolf. Meaning you have to have sex..."

"Shit." Jason whispered to himself. I turned around and looked at him. In his beautiful blue eyes I saw love, compassion, hate, and is that regret?

Then it clicked.

The reason why he was always around or checking up on me. The reason why he likes to hang around me. Jason is my mate.

"Why the hell didn't you tell me?!" he flinched a little. The other guy's just looked at us. "Did any of you know?" they shook their heads. Surprise was written on their faces.

"We will see if there is another way first. Then if she wants to then we can do that." I gave him a sharp look.

"And what do you mean by that?" He knew I wasn't happy right now.

I walked out the living room door and down to the gym in the basement.

He kept something that was supposed to be amazing for two people a secret from me. His other half. Maybe he didn't want me. Could one reject the other? Would he? Of course he would, I’m a mess.

With each question and thought, I hit the punching bag harder. I zoned everything and everyone out. So when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I threw the person over my shoulder and pinned them to the wall by the throat.

"Oof." Was all I heard before looking up to see Jason. I let go of him and walked away. Putting my attention back into the punching bag. He really pissed me off.

"Kelly, please talk to me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I thought you would think I'm crazy."

Punch.

"Tell me about this mate thing." I told him.

Kick.

"I will on one condition." I stopped and looked at him with my right eyebrow raised.

"What?"

He grins and steps forward. "Go on a date with me."

Hmm, Hm I could just ask Max or Jeff. ", ah I'm fine. P, us you owe me after what you did." I s, id going back to the bag. I have to work on my hittibecausecuz I'm weaker than the others. I'm stronger than a human because I have Alpha blood in, me but I need to be stronger than a wolf if I'm ever going to be able to protect myself.

"Then I guess you don't get to know about mates." he said smugly. Puft two can play at this game. I crossed my arms over my chest and raised an eyebrow. "Then you don't get a date with me." I told him with a smirk of my own.
