Chapter 2
Doctor’s point of view
This september turns out to be warm and as beautiful as it can be. The sun is taking a nap on my working chair and instruments, making everything looking vivid and joyfull. I got to work at 09 a.m. as usual and started to check the appointments of the day. Luckily I split this medical office with my sister and she doesn’t bother if I take her appointments because she is bussy with her new born child. Still she comes to work two days a week just to stay in shape and for not loosing her regular patients. That’s fine for me and I could even use some more help, but I’ll wait for her to be ready to do a full time job.
I got a forwarded message from my sister and I found out it was about some patient I had to call and maybe even see in that day. I scheduled an appointment after all, at 2 p.m. for a lady who had a rearmost molar extraction. Looks like my sister attended the lady 5 days ago and seems like her collection of wisdom teeth increased.
The first part of the day flew rapidly, everyone was working, nothing moved me that Thursday and I was very focused on my job. At least, I thought so... I was going to change my protection gloves to see a new pacient and my eyes rolled down the window. Than I saw HER for the very first time: black dress, high heels, long hair, waving like chocolate in the sun, found her charming. I wondered wich doctor would be that lucky to see her? Then it hit me: my sisters message and the lady I called in the morning. God, I hoped I was right!
As soon as I finished with the patient I had to take care, I went to the waiting room. There she was, sitting on the couch and waiting for me. I hoped! I tried to be nice (at least I hope I did) with my next patient and, after that, I invited her in the medical office. I closed the door thinking I just wanted to leave it closed for as long as possible. Watched her while she was leaving the bag and the coat and walking through my medical office as she was at home. f**k, I liked that! And I dont even know why I was watching her so carefully. I think she seemed to me that she wasn’t afraid of anything, she was on her own with her high heels and didn’t mind if everyone else was watching her. I saw the nurses stopped talking and followed our conversation, as I invited her to take a sit on the medical chair, than she was repeating the whole story with the wisdom tooth. Anyway, I knew the story so I just stared at her for one minut or so.. than I lifted the medical chair, mostly becouse I just wanted to see her face closer. And.. oh my God, I wanted her close to me!
I must admit she was beautiful indeed: she had brown big eyes, round face, nice lips, looking soft, just kissable. At first sight I thought she was 25, but seeing her closer made me think she was around 30 and just good looking! All of the sudden, I felt the need to stay closer. As I was checking her painfull gums I was certain she had nothing to worry about that. The healing process of the gum will take 4 to 7 days more but she will be allright. I wondered if I could just reschedule her for whatever reason but than I thought it wasn t professional at all and I tried to focus on explaining her about extractions and so on. The woman seemed a little scared, but after hearing me talking she seemed relaxed and more confident, I just could see her face changing from pain to short relaxing periods, from wonder to understanding medical terms, like a child who found the answer to some difficult question.
The examination took few more minutes, than I explained her she could call again if the pain will increase and it looked like she left in a bit of a hurry. The medical office seemed empty but my head was full of that woman's image. I grabbed the papers from my sister appointment just to see her name: Melissa Carter!
