"Why is he giving you pastry?" Vera asked as they walked down the hallway, following the thin trickle of students that trailed towards the cafeteria.
"Because he's a jerk,” Alex finally replied with a smirk. She was thankful though that Travis was not in her next class otherwise, she would probably burst in flames if she looked at him. She felt amused and embarrassed at the same time.
Vera and Alexandra shared the cake during lunch and once again, Alex was thankful that Travis did not eat in the cafeteria. It would be embarrassing and awkward to eat the cake within his view.
